Erlikon wire is intended for welding ordinary, non-alloy steels using the MIG/MAG process under a CO2 shielding atmosphere. It is copper-coated, solid and non-alloyed, and is used for joining steels, boiler construction and pipe welding with tensile strength up to 510 N/mm².

Suitable for non-alloy structural steels, boiler plates, pipe steels, shipbuilding steels and cast steels. Materials marked with an asterisk require preheating to 150–300 °C, depending on the plate thickness.
