The rubber part is soft yet very neat. It came packaged in a sealed box so it was well protected from the elements and clean. My cats started running and playing over it immediately after I laid it down. I thought to myself that this is the ultimate test. I was happy that it did not move or slip, just as advertised. My cat seams to think it is also comfortable :)

It does a very good job. It is very absorbent (especially if someone wipes with wet shoes), dirt is not visible, user-friendly.
