"The preparation of this book is mainly due to the need of Medical students to use a self-contained aid to complete their training in the physical examination methods of the patient, which they are taught theoretically and practically in the tutorial exercises of the Pathological Preparatory Clinic of the University. At the same time, however, it was judged that this aid would be useful for supplementing the library of doctors, especially younger ones, and for this reason the topics discussed were treated in such a way that, first, the synthetic practical application of the knowledge of Special Pathology is covered as much as possible, second, the diagnostic significance of the physical examination methods of the established manifestations of diseases is emphasized, and third, the importance of cultivating and developing the clinical observation skills of the doctor is highlighted.

The favorable reception, which the first edition of this book received from both doctors and medical students, justified our ambition and hope that we offer a useful aid for the more comprehensive clinical training of doctors in our country. The rapid exhaustion of the copies of the first edition and the favorable reviews regarding the usefulness of this book were a vindication of the long and arduous work required for its writing. Therefore, we can deliver to the medical community the second edition, with greater confidence in the usefulness of this book."
