I bought them for an energy fireplace, theoretically because they smoke less, burn more slowly, perform better, and leave less ash. I really wonder if the batch I bought was problematic, because they do exactly the opposite and are actually DANGEROUS. They expand as they burn, to double their size, and break into pieces, knocking down the wood if you have it stacked. They blacken, smoke, are hard to burn, and towards the end "collapse" into a black sawdust powder that sits on the wood and chokes the air. You have to regularly stir this black powder for it to keep burning. I'm really thinking of just throwing them away.

At a supermarket in Northern Greece, 4 euros per package, I bought them for testing, the package is 10 kilos and has 5 pieces, each piece in my wood stove lasts 1 hour, so the package gives you 5 hours if you use them one by one. Heating performance is average for maintenance, they do not produce as much heat as beech. If you put two pieces in the stove, of course, they produce more heat but the package lasts 2.5 hours. They do not smoke much and do not smell but they produce quite a bit of ash.

I highly recommend the product. I used it in a cast iron stove, half a wood briquette together with a similar-sized piece of olive wood, outside temperature 11 degrees, 25 square meters isobox, inside 30 degrees from 19:30 to 22:30 it was like an oven, little ash, no smoke, and no problems, very satisfied

The heating performance and duration are quite good. However, it produces too much smoke. In an energy fireplace, the glass becomes terrible, as well as the interior chamber and the chimney. My veranda, which is close to the chimney, gets filled with black soot on the floor. I have noticed that if it is used in combination with wood, the phenomenon is reduced. I have tried various briquettes, even ones of lower price, and I have never had so much smoke. Also, the ash it leaves behind is like having grains of sand inside, and I am afraid to use it for cleaning the windows.

The review concerns the briquette at the price I purchased it in March 2022 (€3.40). After 6 months....€7.!!!
edit 2/2024: The reason for using the briquette was its low price. The price has now dropped significantly, but the damage had already been done. We turned and invested in heating with air conditioning.

The price is scandalous, from 3.00 to 3.50 last year to 7.00 this year, not even the woods have increased by 100%. Other than that, the packaging is fine and it doesn't produce too much ash. Okay
