My comment on this lens is premature, but it seems fine to me. I am only making this comment to point out some things that will save some people time and prevent them from having the wrong impression of poor image quality:
If you have a camera with IBIS, especially Olympus (I don't know about Panasonic or other cameras with IBIS), this will not work correctly unless you manually set the focal length of the lens in the camera.
For the Olympus OM-D M10 IV, you can do this as follows:
- Press the shortcut menu button (top left, next to ON/OFF).
- Click on the bottom left part of the menu that appears on the screen, where it says M-IS1.
- Press INFO to declare the focal length of your lens.
- Use the < and > buttons on the selector to choose the position of the digit you want to change, and use the up/down buttons to change the number.
Regarding focus magnification, if you set the camera to use focus magnification from the menu, it will not work with manual lenses (unlike focus peaking, which works normally). However, if you assign a button to activate focus magnification, it will work with manual lenses. So, you can assign, for example, the video capture button or the AEL/AFL button as the focus peaking button, and another button as the focus magnification button. This combination will give you maximum accuracy in focusing.
Attention here: before assigning the digital teleconverter button as the magnifier, make sure it has not been pressed once before and left in teleconverter mode. Otherwise, it will function as both a magnifier and a teleconverter, and you will not notice it from the JPEGs (because the resolution will be the same due to upscaling), but only from the RAW files, where you will see the actual frame.
Another thing I liked is the cap of the front element of the lens. This cap does not tighten with the usual mechanism found in almost all other lens caps, which comes into contact with the UV filter, but it simply snaps on perfectly with a push. As a result, there is no chance of scratching the UV filter that you will attach to your lens! No more dilemmas of "cap or filter or both together" if you are one of those compulsive people who deal with such details :-)

Είναι πρώϊμος ο σχολιασμός μου σχετικά με αυτό το φακό ο οποίος καταρχήν μου φαίνεται μια χαρά, αλλά τον κάνω μόνο και μόνο για να επισημάνω κάποια σημεία που γλιτώσει μερικούς από χαμένο χρόνο και εσφαλμένη εντύπωση κακής ποιότητας εικόνας:
Αν έχετε μηχανή με IBIS και ειδικά Olympus (για Panasonic ή άλλες μηχανές με IBIS δεν ξέρω) αυτό ΔΕΝ θα δουλέψει σωστά εκτός και αν δηλώσετε χειροκίνητα στη μηχανή το εστιακό μήκος του φακού.
Αυτό, τουλάχιστο στην Olympus OM-D M10 IV γίνεται ως εξής:
- πατάμε το κουμπάκι του σύντομου menu (πάνω αριστερά, δίπλα στο ON/OFF).
- κλικάρουμε στο κάτω αριστερό μέρος του πίνακα που θα εμφανιστεί στην οθόνη μας, εκεί που λέει Μ-IS1.
- πατάμε το INFO για να δηλώσουμε το εστιακό μήκος του φακού μας.
- με τά κουμπιά < και > του πολυεπιλογέα επιλέγουμε τη θέση του ψηφίου που θέλουμε να αλλάξουμε και με τα πάνω / κάτω το νούμερο του ψηφίου.
Σχετικά με το focus magnification. Εάν ορίσετε από το menu να κάνει η μηχανή focus magnification, το δεύτερο δε θα δουλέψει με manual φακούς (αντίθετα με το focus peaking που δουλεύει κανονικά). Αν όμως ορίσετε ένα πλήκτρο να κάνει το focus magnification, αυτό θα δουλέψει και με manual φακούς. Τρέχα γύρευε γιατί. Οπότε, μπορείτε να ορίσετε π.χ. το κουμπί λήψης video ή το κουμπί AEL/AFL ως κουμπί focus peaking και ένα άλλο ως focus magnification. Ο συνδυασμός αυτός θα σας δώσει τη μέγιστη ακρίβεια στην εστίαση.
Προσοχή εδώ: πριν ορίσετε το πλήκτρο του digital teleconverter ως magnifier βεβαιωθείτε ότι δεν έχει προηγουμένως πατηθεί μια φορά και ξεχαστεί σε λειτουργία teleconverter. Διαφορετικά θα λειτουργεί και ως magnifier αλλά και ως teleconverter και δε θα το πάρετε χαμπάρι από τα jpegs (διότι η ανάλυση θα είναι ίδια λόγω upscaling) αλλά μόνο από τα RAW όπου θα δείτε το πραγματικό κάδρο.
Κάτι ακόμα που μου άρεσε είναι το καπάκι του μπροστινού στοιχείου του φακού. Το καπάκι λοιπόν αυτό, δεν σφίγγει με το γνωστό μηχανισμό που θα βρείτε σε όλα σχεδόν τα άλλα καπάκια φακών και που έρχεται σε επαφή με το φιλτράκι UV αλλά κουμπώνει τέλεια απλώς με ένα σπρώξιμο. Αποτέλεσμα: δεν υπάρχει περίπτωση να γρατζουνίσετε το φίλτρο UV που θα κουμπώσετε στο φακό σας! Τέρμα πια τα διλήμματα "καπάκι ή φιλτράκι ή και τα δύο μαζί", αν είστε από τους ψυχαναγκαστικούς που καταπιάνονται με τέτοιες λεπτομέρειες :-)
