The Power Electronics PT414-8 level controller monitors the level of conductive liquids in tanks and boreholes, and connects to suspended-type electrodes. It measures the liquid’s resistance between the electrodes: the relay activates when the liquid reaches the upper electrode and deactivates when the level falls below the middle electrode.
The lowest of the three electrodes serves as a reference point and can be replaced by the ground connection in a metal tank. The safe, low AC voltage between the electrodes prevents electrolysis, while the resistance between them must be less than 20 kΩ.
