The hunter becomes the prey. After Arkham City and Arkham Asylum, many players know Batman as the hunter, lurking in the shadows to confront enemies that other crime fighters couldn't handle. However, the roles have reversed.
The crime lord Black Mask has placed a $50 million bounty on the Dark Knight, and some of the world's most terrifying assassins - including Bane, Firefly, Copperhead, and Deathstroke - have accepted the challenge. This is not exactly the Batman we have known in previous Arkham games.
This is the story of Batman around the second year of his career. Yes, he can fight and defend, but previously he faced organized crime and ordinary criminal elements. He has never faced anything like these assassins. As you might have guessed, the emphasis on combat is increased in this version - the first developed by WB Games Montreal instead of Rocksteady.
While the careful balance of attack, counterattack, and evasion is maintained, WB aims to push players' skills in different areas to become masters of combat, adding new gadgets. The idea is that as Batman evolves as a fighter, so do the players.
The increased emphasis on combat does not mean that the more cerebral aspects of the game have disappeared. Players will be able to use Detective Vision to solve crimes and track enemies. Are you ready to help the Caped Crusader become the Dark Knight?
