Compact and comfortable, the Viltrox 50mm f/1.8 lens is a standard-length lens designed for Sony full-frame E-mount mirrorless cameras. The versatile normal field of view is suitable for a wide range of subjects, from portraiture to reportage, and the fast f/1.8 design excels in low-light conditions and for shallow depth of field applications.
The optical design incorporates:
- One extra-low dispersion element, two high transparency elements, and two aspherical elements to suppress aberrations and distortions.
- HD Nano multi-layer coating to reduce flare and ghosting, ensuring greater contrast in bright and backlit conditions.
The lens design also integrates an STM stepping motor that delivers fast, nearly silent, and accurate autofocus performance along with full-time manual focus override. The internal focusing design contributes to quick performance.
The standard-length prime lens is designed for Sony E-mount full-frame format mirrorless cameras and when used on APS-C cameras it has the equivalent perspective of a 75mm lens.
Features:
- Bright f/1.8 maximum aperture suitable for low-light conditions and greater control over depth of field.
- 11 elements in 10 groups.
- Extra-low dispersion and high transparency elements reduce chromatic fringing and chromatic aberrations for a high degree of clarity and color accuracy.
- Two aspherical elements control spherical aberrations and reduce distortion.
- HD Nano coating on individual elements for improved contrast and color fidelity in strong lighting conditions.
- Integrated manual aperture ring for tactile exposure control with an 'A' position for automatic aperture selection.
- Built-in micro-USB port for firmware updates.
