Description

It is August 1959. In a social housing residence in Bobigny, at the gates of Paris, two comic book writers are trying to find an idea for a character. It's not just the summer heat: the two friends are working hard to prepare for the first volume of Pilote, a new magazine for youth that will be launched in three months. The screenwriter is named René Goscinny and his friend, the designer, is Albert Uderzo. They had thought about adapting "The Romance of Renart," but someone else had thought of it before them. Then, they search… but find nothing… Until Goscinny has the idea of a little Gallic, stubborn and mustachioed. Thus Asterix is born and, along with him, an amazing success that becomes a phenomenon in society.
