Description

Description

In this book, Kostas Melas presents the Greek economy in relation to political, social, and cultural developments, without ethical and moralistic considerations.

The aim is for the nearly 200-year historical reality of the Greek economy to emerge as it is, without treating all its peculiarities and idiosyncrasies as diseases that need to be cured.

The book includes three chapters: the first is dedicated to the main peculiarities and idiosyncrasies of the Greek social formation; the second explains the social, political, and economic processes that prepared the current outcome, namely the country's bankruptcy; in the third, fundamental ideas about the so-called 'Economics of the Memorandum' are articulated.
