The Thirard safe combines a controlled electronic lock, opened via keypad, with key locking. The lock features anti-theft memory and EN 1300 certification, while the keypad provides audible and visual indicators for code confirmation, incorrect operation and low battery.

The body and frame have perimeter welds, while the internal welds are made using a robotic system. The door is protected by steel plates and magnesium around the lock, the horizontal bolts and the upper vertical side. It is powered by 4 AA 1.5 V alkaline batteries, which are not included, and has a backup power supply via an internal contact on the keypad.
