To attach to a spear fishing rifle, you would notice the weight for sure and it could throw your shot off, its more meant for strapping to your thigh/leg with the included straps. When you get the knife, you have to feed the straps through the knife sheath, then its a buckle system so if you buy this for your speargun you would have to adapt it with special fittings to do this, its best for attchment to your body not only for ease of use but for weight.
