My first 43-inch TV. I cannot compare it to other 43-inch TVs, but compared to the 32-inch Full HD Samsung, LG, and Thomson TVs that I have worked with so far, it is a tremendous upgrade to the television experience and at an excellent price.
Each of us has different needs and interests before making a purchase. I will try to provide a detailed review like the ones I like to read before buying a TV, which help me a lot. Some of what I will write may not be useful to you, but it may be useful to someone else. I may omit some other elements that you may ask about because I did not research them, I hope another review will help you with that.
The transport packaging was very minimal. There were only two pieces of foam in the top and bottom of the box, and the screen was essentially protected by a cardboard attached with tape. I think this is a bit dangerous during transportation. Imagine a TV box that, if squeezed in the middle, the finger will go inside at the point of the screen because it is not protected in the middle, only on top and bottom. There is a sticker from edge to edge on the screen that needs to be removed very carefully to avoid unpleasant surprises with the frame and the TV's glass. The 4 screws in the packaging are for the TV's legs. If you want to mount it on the wall, you will need to make sure you have the appropriate screws that fit the TV's holes along with the mount you will purchase.
When you plug the TV into the socket, do not try to turn it on from the remote control, you will not succeed. For the first time, you need to press the button in the middle, below the screen. Connect it to the internet immediately and let it perform the software update for as long as it takes (the file is over 1 GB).
The picture, from what I have seen, looks impeccable. In the video downloaded from the internet, the motion of the image is smooth, vivid, unlike the 32-inch TVs where it always seemed like the frames were "jumping". For the more tech-savvy, I am talking about videos in progressive scan (Digea and ERT play in interlaced, which the 32-inch TVs prefer more than progressive).
It also plays the terrestrial channels just as well, especially the High Definition ones, but even in the ones that are in SD, it does a very good upscaling. The TV performs an automatic channel search. In case you receive signals from 2 different broadcasting centers with different frequencies, it saves the channels from the frequencies that have a stronger signal, not the ones that come first in the band, as some LG TVs do - naively. There is a *very deeply hidden in the menu* option for manual search in the frequencies, by pressing the SET button and then "more settings". There, you can see the signal level of each frequency.
In terms of USB playback, I would like to have more options (pause, forward/backward buttons) that are not available in the default program, however, you have the ability to download applications from the PlayStore (VLC, Kodi) and play files from them.
The HBB platforms (Ertflix, MegaPlay, Open HBB, etc.) work normally. The Ertflix application from the PlayStore also works flawlessly. However, there should be incompatibility with the ANT1 application on Google Playstore because it does not appear in the search for download, as well as it does not display for download neither the Mozilla & Chrome browsers so navigation can only be done through the "mama's" browser.
Netflix is pre-installed on the TV, no need to search for it. There is also a dedicated button on the remote control, as well as for Amazon Prime.
I tried some 4K material on Youtube, it's great.
The remote control works with Bluetooth and not with infrared! This means that even if you aim off-center and not directly, the TV will receive the command. Both the remote control and the TV itself have microphones, so you can give it commands (e.g. for search or to open Netflix), or when you are searching for something on the internet instead of typing it, you can do it with your voice.
What the average viewer who wants it just for the terrestrial channels should pay attention to is that although they do play, they come second: When you open the TV for the first time, it will default to the multimedia menu (Netflix, etc.) and switching to antenna channels must be done by pressing the Mi button. The same will also happen when the power is cut or you unplug it from the socket, it will open again in the multimedia menu and if you want to switch to channels, you will have to press the button. On the other hand, if it doesn't lose power and you put it on standby, the next time you open it, it will open from where it was playing when you closed it.
In other words, if you want it for your grandparents' living room, I think you will confuse them with this choice, look for something simpler. If you want it for yourself, and you want an economical but smart device with a very good image, and that can also connect to the internet, don't think about it too much, get it! It is truly what we call Value for Money.
Η πρώτη μου 43άρα. Δεν μπορώ να τη συγκρίνω με άλλες 43άρες αλλά σε σχέση με τις 32αρες Full HD Samsung, LG και Thomson που έχω δουλέψει ως τώρα, είναι τρομερή αναβάθμιση τηλεοπτικής εμπειρίας και σε εξαιρετική τιμή.
Ο καθένας μας έχει διαφορετικές ανάγκες και ενδιαφέρεται για διαφορετικά πράγματα πριν από κάθε αγορά. Εγώ θα προσπαθήσω να κάνω μια λεπτομερή κριτική σαν αυτές που μου αρέσει να διαβάζω πριν την αγορά μιας τηλεόρασης και που με βοηθούν πολύ. Κάποια από όσα θα γράψω πιθανώς να μην σας είναι χρήσιμα, αλλά να είναι χρήσιμα για κάποιον άλλον. Κάποια άλλα στοιχεία που θα ζητάτε ίσως τα παραλείψω γιατί δεν τα έψαχνα εγώ, ελπίζω να σας βοηθήσει κάποια άλλη κριτική.
Η συσκευασία μεταφοράς ήταν πολύ λιτή. Υπήρχαν δύο κομμάτια φελιζόλ στο πάνω και κάτω μέρος του κουτιού μόνο, και η οθόνη ουσιαστικά προστατευόταν απλά από ένα χαρτόνι κολλημένο με ζελοτέιπ. Αυτό νομίζω πως είναι λίγο επικίνδυνο κατά τη μεταφορά. Φανταστείτε ένα κουτί τηλεόρασης, που αν το ζουλίξεις στη μέση, στο σημείο της οθόνης με το δάχτυλο θα μπει μέσα γιατί δεν προστατεύεται στη μέση, αλλά μόνο πάνω και κάτω. Υπάρχει ένα αυτοκόλλητο απ' άκρη σε άκρη επάνω στην οθόνη, που πρέπει να αφαιρεθεί πολύ προσεκτικά για να μην υπάρξουν δυσάρεστες εκπλήξεις με τον σκελετό και το τζάμι της τηλεόρασης. Οι 4 βίδες της συσκευασίας είναι για τα πόδια της, αν θέλετε να τη βάλετε στο τοίχο θα πρέπει να φροντίσετε μαζί με τη βάση που θα αγοράσετε να έχετε και τις κατάλληλες βίδες που θα χωράνε στις τρύπες της τηλεόρασης.
Όταν βάλετε τη τηλεόραση στη πρίζα μην προσπαθήσετε να την ανοίξετε από το τηλεκοντρόλ, δεν θα τα καταφέρετε: Για πρώτη φορά πρέπει να πατήσετε το κουμπί στη μέση, κάτω από την οθόνη. Συνδέστε την στο ίντερνετ αμέσως και αφήστε την να κάνει την αναβάθμιση λογισμικού όση ώρα κι αν χρειαστεί (το αρχείο είναι πάνω από 1 GB).
Η εικόνα σε ό,τι έχω δει φαίνεται άψογη. Στο video που είναι κατεβασμένο/φορτωμένο από το ίντερνετ, η κίνηση της εικόνας είναι ομαλή, ζωντανή, σε αντίθεση με τις 32άρες που πάντα μου φαινόταν σαν να "πηδούσαν" καρέ. Για τους πιο ψαγμένους μιλάω για βίντεο σε progressive scan (η digea και η ερτ παίζουν σε interlaced, το οποίο οι 32αρες το αγαπάνε περισσότερο από το progressive).
Τα επίγεια κανάλια τα παίζει επίσης το ίδιο καλά, ειδικά τα High Definition, αλλά και σε όσα είναι σε SD κάνει πολύ καλό upscalling. Η τηλεόραση κάνει αυτόματη αναζήτηση καναλιών. Σε περίπτωση που πιάνετε σήμα από 2 διαφορετικά κέντρα εκπομπής με διαφορετικές συχνότητες, αποθηκεύει τα κανάλια από τις συχνότητες που έχουν ισχυρότερο σήμα, όχι αυτές που προηγούνται στη μπάντα, όπως -αφελώς- κάνουν κάποιες LG. Υπάρχει *πολύ βαθιά κρυμμένη στο μενού* και η επιλογή για χειροκίνητη αναζήτηση στις συχνότητες, πατώντας το κουμπί SET και στη συνέχεια το "περισσότερες ρυθμισεις". Εκεί φαίνεται και η στάθμη του σήματος κάθε συχνότητας.
Στην αναπαραγωγή μέσω USB θα ήθελα να υπάρχουν περισσότερες επιλογές (κουμπιά παύσης, μπρος/πίσω κλπ) που δεν υπάρχουν στο προεπιλεγμένο πρόγραμμα, ωστόσο δίνεται η δυνατότητα να κατεβάσεις εφαρμογές από το PlayStore (VLC, Kodi) και να παίξεις τα αρχεία από αυτά.
Οι HBB πλατφόρμες (Ertflix, MegaPlay, Open HBB κλπ) παίζουν κανονικά. Η εφαρμογή Ertflix από το Playstore δουλεύει επίσης ρολόι. Πρέπει ωστόσο να υπάρχει ασυμβατότητα με την εφαρμογή του ΑΝΤ1 στο Google Playstore γιατί δεν την εμφανίζει στην αναζήτηση για κατέβασμα, όπως επίσης δεν εμφανίζει για κατέβασμα ούτε τους browsers Mozilla & Chrome οπότε η πλοήγηση μπορεί να γίνει μόνο μέσω του browser της "μαμάς".
To Netflix είναι προεγκατεστημένο στην τηλεόραση, δεν χρειάζεται να το ψάξετε. Υπάρχει και ειδικό κουμπί στο τηλεκοντρόλ, όπως και για το Amazon Prime.
4Κ υλικό δοκίμασα λιγάκι από το Youtube, μια χαρά.
Το τηλεκοντρόλ λειτουργεί με Bluetooth και όχι με υπέρυθρες! Αυτό σημαίνει ότι ακόμα και αν σημαδεύετε στο υπερπέραν και όχι ευθεία, η τηλεόραση θα τη λάβει την εντολή. Τόσο στο τηλεκοντρόλ όσο και στην ίδια την τηλεόραση υπάρχουν μικρόφωνα, ώστε να της δίνετε εντολές (πχ για αναζήτηση ή για να ανοίξει το νετφλιξ), ή για όταν ψάχνετε κάτι στο ίντερνετ αντί να το πληκτρολογείτε να το κάνετε με τη φωνή.
Αυτό που ίσως θα πρέπει να προσέξει ο μέσος τηλεθεατής που την θέλει απλά για τα επίγεια κανάλια είναι ότι αυτά παίζουν μεν, αλλά έρχονται σε δεύτερη μοίρα: Η τηλεόραση όταν την ανοίξετε πρώτη φορά θα ανοίξει κατά προεπιλογή στο μενού των πολυμέσων (netflix κλπ) και η εναλλαγή στα κανάλια κεραίας πρέπει να γίνει πατώντας το κουμπί Mi. Το ίδιο θα συμβεί επίσης όταν κοπεί το ρεύμα ή την βγάλετε από τη πρίζα, πάλι θα ανοίξει στο μενού των πολυμέσων και θα πρέπει αν θέλετε να την γυρίσετε στα κανάλια να πατήσετε το κουμπί. Αν, από την άλλη, δεν βγεί από το ρεύμα και την βάλετε στο standby, την επόμενη φορά που θα την ανοίξετε θα ανοίξει από εκεί που έπαιζε όταν την κλείσατε.
Με άλλα λόγια αν την θέλετε για το σαλόνι του παππού και της γιαγιάς, νομίζω θα τους δυσκολέψετε με αυτή την επιλογή, κοιτάξτε κάτι πιο απλό. Αν την θέλετε για εσάς, και θέλετε μια οικονομική αλλά έξυπνη συσκευή με πολύ καλή εικόνα, και που να συνδέεται και στο ίντερνετ μην το σκεφτείτε και πολύ, πάρτε την! Είναι πραγματικά αυτό που λέμε Value for Money.
