Indeed, two vertebrae, demonstrating both their differentiating dynamics and their bridging predisposition, constitute the present book: the analysis of certain Sophoclean and Euripidean tragedies on the one hand, and the examination of Aristophanic comic works on the other, with admittedly obsessive emphasis on two exceptionally Athenocentric comedies, Acharnians and Lysistrata.
