I bought it for the hallway of my apartment building, to light up the difficult moment when you are in the middle of the hallway and the automatic light goes off.
It does its job more than well.
However, it has a narrow motion detection beam, it doesn't catch you when you are right below it. The solution is to place it with some intermediate padding at an angle downwards and not completely vertical. This way it can see better downwards and the sensor is facing the light from the hallway window.
Anyway (because I opened it), don't even think about putting it in an outdoor space, it will get wet. Its waterproofing is minimal.
