Biography: Tasos Kourakis was born in Thessaloniki in 1948. He is an Associate Professor at the Medical School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He has published the poetry collections: Tracing the Present, Lake Victoria, Words Shine Forever, Ieron, 67%, the bilingual edition in Greek and French, Spring is Postponed Until Further Notice, On Bodies of Words, I Don't Want to Die, because how will I live afterwards without her? as well as a collection of essays, The Deviants.
He has served as a member of parliament for SYRIZA, Deputy Minister of Education, and First Vice President of the Parliament.
