The device has a response time of 250 ms, adjustable emissivity from 0.1 to 1.0 with 5 presets, and a spectral range of 8–14 μm. Measurement modes include MAX, MIN, AVG, DIFF, and HOLD, while the memory stores up to 99 readings with the date and time. It features visual and audible alarms, a backlight, and scheduled measurement capability.

It operates at ambient temperatures from 0 °C to 50 °C and can be stored at temperatures from -20 °C to 60 °C. It withstands drops from heights of up to 1 m and is CE and UKCA certified.
