I have a simple desk, which had a small depth, so traditional studio monitors would take up most of it and, for example, the mouse pad wouldn't fit in a convenient position.
As for the sound quality, it is clearly better than simple 2.1 sets that have been coming out by the dozens for years. The fact that they are so small and produce such sound is impressive, although their response is not completely flat, hence the four stars. In no case are they "v-shaped" and with proper placement in the space, the response improves noticeably.
For their price, connectivity options, sound clarity, and especially their size, they are a very good choice.

Update, September 2021: With the interface at max and the speakers at 12 o'clock, there is some distortion, but the interface and the way of connection play a role. With a better card and balanced TRS, it might have more headroom before clipping.
Also, there is a setting to play sound from all its connections simultaneously (Bluetooth, Aux, RCA, and TRS), which is very useful if you want to use different devices at the same time.

2nd update: After some time, the connection system from the slave to the master speaker, which is done with two copper wires, broke, so the slave sometimes does not produce sound. Personally, I will not choose again any of the cheaper speaker pairs that have this system, as it has an expiration date. Also, I lowered the rating to 3 stars, as their sound is mediocre for a product advertised as a "monitor," where one would expect a flatter response.

The speakers are NOT suitable for a studio.

    2. I have been involved in music production and sound engineering for 6+ years.

    3. These speakers lack greatly in sound intensity as well as in the entire frequency spectrum.

    4. Some LOGITECH 2.1 speakers that cost around 50 euros perform better than these in terms of both intensity and frequency range.

    5. They are good for listening to music at the office.

    6. Their price is unjustifiable for me, but for someone who sees the JBL logo, it may not be.

    7. The speakers are NOT suitable for a studio.

Guys, I was looking for a 2.0 due to limited space in the office. I had a 2.1 system which, due to space constraints and various annoying bugs, I decided to change. My main dilemma was whether these speakers would produce decent bass. I can say the sound is amazing without being overwhelming. The bass is present and noticeable without vibrating closets and doors. They have a lot of volume and even at maximum, they don't lose their crystal-clear quality. Also, the speakers don't produce that annoying buzzing (xxxxxxx) when idle, which is bothersome in near-field situations like in the office. After 20 minutes of no use, they enter eco mode and when a signal comes, they play without any bugs or glitches like opening and closing the speakers.

Positives - very clean sound, crystal clear, good construction, doesn't take up much space.
Now for someone who is used to listening to music with the classic V, full bass and full treble, they will find them flat.
They are good for near field situations.
Negatives - you could say that they are not for parties. But that's not their purpose anyway.
