The Eurofighter Typhoon or EF-2000 is a project of a consortium consisting of three companies: Alenai Aeronautica, BAE Systems, and EADS. The first is a forward-looking infrared (FLIR) sensor that operates in conjunction with the infrared detection and tracking system (IRST). The second pair of eyes is of course the multitask Doppler ECR 90 radar, which operates in the X band. It is manufactured by the Euroradar consortium consisting of the British company Marconi Electronic Systems, ENOSA from Spain, FIAR from Italy, and Daimler Chrysler Aerospace (DASA) from Germany. The pilot of the Eurofighter sits in a cockpit equipped with voice control. In addition, there are about 25 control buttons on the throttle and stick. The information is presented on the multifunctional reflective MHUD display and the three color multifunction MHDD displays on the console. It is complemented by the helmet-mounted display system HMS. It uses a Martin Baker Mk16A ejection seat of the 0-0 type. As the aircraft is statically unstable, the integrated computer is directly controlled by the control surfaces and the motorization of the airbrake through a digital fly-by-wire system. The EFA is powered by two Eurojet EJ200 dual-flow thrust engines, each providing 60 kN of thrust and 90 kN with afterburners. The engines are digitally controlled.
