In contrast to the established approach to the Turkish social formation, this book aims to bring to the forefront a more complex and multifaceted reality, helping the Greek audience to come into contact with relatively unknown aspects of the neighboring country.

At its center is the Turkish student movement, whose various stages are presented in detail: from its identification with the Kemalist state through its gradual radicalization and massification in the 1960s, and finally, its transition to the anti-fascist and armed struggle in the 1970s.

Through an original study, unprecedented in Greek literature, the social and political struggles in post-war Turkey are highlighted, which sought, even if for a short period, to shape a different political reality, not isolated from the overwhelming developments created later by the global movement wave of the "long 1960s," but in direct dialogue with them.
