Chimney collector, from the company Kratki, is designed to be installed at the chimney outlet from the fireplace and is intended to recover part of the thermal energy from the flue gases exiting the combustion chamber of the insert fireplace.
The heat is further transferred to the hot water or, through a central heating system, to radiators in residential areas. It is a very economical source of heat, as it does not require the use of additional fuel, using only the excess heat in the flue gases flowing towards the chimney.
The hot flue gases flow through the heat exchanger, heating the water in the exchanger's jacket. The hot water is then discharged through a pipe located at the top of the exchanger.
The exchanger is adapted to work with radiator installations and underfloor heating systems provided with solid fuel central heating furnaces, natural gas, oil, electric energy, heat pumps, and solar batteries.
It is made of steel designed to operate at high temperatures. This material is adapted for operation in central heating systems, ensuring high reliability of the device, thermal resistance, and long-term operation.
The central part of the exchanger is the internal chamber in which the system of pipes and conduits increases the heat exchange surface. At the inlet of the chamber, a movable plate is placed to ensure the correct arrangement of the damper.
The damper, which controls the flow of flue gases, is installed in the internal chamber:
- the vertical damper is in the open position - the flue gases flow directly into the chimney flue - the exchanger is deactivated
- the horizontal damper is in the closed position - the flue gases flow over the water jacket of the exchanger, transferring heat to the water jacket - the exchanger is activated.
