The specially designed EW-83L Lens Hood is suitable for use with: Canon EF 24-70mm f/4L IS USM.

Lens hoods are primarily designed to prevent unwanted light from entering the lens, extending and shading the lens's edge. A specialized lens hood is designed to fit perfectly with the specific focal length of the lens for which it is intended. Additionally, this hood features a matte finish with no gloss on the inner surface, which limits or prevents lens flare. As the edge of the lens is extended, it also offers additional protection from accidental bumps. The bayonet mount is designed to work in a reverse position as well, allowing the hood to be mounted backward on the lens for more compact storage.

The "petal" shape of this lens hood maximizes coverage with the minimum possible weight and surface area of the hood.
