Varietal Composition: Single Malt
Region: Scotland
Tasting Notes: In the early 1970s, Benriach broke convention in Speyside by returning to the distillation of batches of whisky in the old 19th-century style, using malted barley smoked with Highland peat. This rich Highland wood peat imparts subtly sweet and smoky notes to Benriach peated whiskies.
Benriach The Smoky Ten is crafted from a combination of peated and unpeated spirit. It is matured for at least ten years in a combination of three barrels: bourbon, Jamaican rum casks, and virgin oak. The whisky then evolves adeptly to create luscious notes of fruit, aromatic smoke, and toasted oak spice, lingering in the perfectly balanced sweet and smoky finish.
