It was purchased on sale for €409 and came with a €50 G2A voucher.
The reason I chose it was because I was looking for an Ultrawide 1440p 144hz+ monitor, specifically the Gigabyte G34WQC. But at €409, it was a great price that I couldn't pass up on the Samsung.
Coming from a 27" 16:9 1080p 60hz IPS monitor, I don't think I can go back to 16:9. They now seem square to me. Nor can I go back to 60hz.
The monitor is relatively good, but I don't think it's worth more than €400.
It has ghosting in black/gray and classic VA discoloration on the edges (more noticeable in gray color).
The viewing angles are relatively good horizontally, but vertically it is especially noticeable in black. You might be in a dark gaming environment, sit a little lower in your chair, and it will look like you messed with the gamma.
HDR is just marketing. It doesn't make much sense. It's not even bright enough and it doesn't have local dimming. The closest it has is dynamic brightness, and there's no reason for it to be on by default.
The stand is a joke. It's made of plastic and feels like it will break under the weight of the monitor. It's also not adjustable (at least for me. I've seen reviews where it goes up and down). Once you manage to attach it, because they couldn't put a screw (the manual shows attaching it with fingers, by the way), take it off and throw it away as it is, and get a desk mount for €25-€30 to do the job.
The worst part of it all: the joystick for the menu. The menu may be fine (although it has few settings), but the button is useless. Not only did it start having issues in the second week, but it's practically useless. If you don't give it a couple of slaps and struggle for about 5 minutes to use it for 5 seconds until it breaks again, it won't work. It seems to be a common problem with all monitors in the Odyssey series and those that use the same joystick.
I don't believe a company like Samsung is okay with having such poor construction in a €500 monitor.

Ο λόγος που την επέλεξα ήταν οτι κοίταγα Ultrawide 1440p 144hz+ συγγεκριμμένα την Gigabyte G34WQC.
Αλλά στα 409 ηταν πολύ καλη τιμή για να προσπεράσω την Samsung.
Έρχοντας απο 27" 16:9 1080p 60hz IPS. Δεν νομίζω οτι μπορώ να πάω πίσω σε 16:9, μου φαίνονται τετράγωνες τωρα πιά. Ούτε σε 60hz.
Η οθόνη είναι σχετικά καλή, δέν πιστεύω όμως οτι αξίζει πανω απο 400 €.
Έχει ghosting στα μαύρα/γκρι, κλασσικό VA discoloration στις ακρες(πιο εμφανή σε γκρι χρώμα)
Οι γωνίες θέασης είναι σχετικά καλές δεξιά-αριστερά, αλλά πάνω-κάτω φαίνεται ειδικά σε μαύρο.
Μπορεί να είσαστε σε σκοτεινό περιβάλλον σε game, να καθίσετε λίγο πιο χαμηλά στην καρέκλα και να φαίνεται σα να πειράξατε το gamma.
Το HDR είναι marketing και μόνο. Δέν έχει κανένα νόημα. Ούτε αρκετά φωτεινή είναι, ούτε local dimming έχει. Το πιο κοντινό που έχει είναι dynamic brightness, και δέν υπάρχει κανένας λόγος να είναι on by default.
Η βάση είναι ενα αστείο.
Μια πλαστικούρα, που νιώθεις οτι θα σπάσει κάτω απ' το βάρος της οθόνης και δέν ρυθμίζεται καθόλου (για εμένα τουλάχιστον. Έχω δεί σε reviews που πάει και πάνω - κάτω)
Αφού καταφέρεις να την κουμπώσεις, γιατι δεν μπορύσαν να βάλουν μια βίδα( το manual δείχνει να την κουμπωνει με τα δάχτυλα btw), μετά βγάλτην και πέτα την όπως είναι, και πάρε ένα desk mount των 25 - 30 € για να κάνεις τη δουλειά σου.
Το χειρότερο όλων: Το joystick για το μενού.
Το μενού μπορεί να είναι εντάξει(αν και έχει λίγες ρυθμίσεις) αλλά το κουμπί είναι για πέταμα.
Όχι μόνο άρχισε να παρουσιάζει προβλήματα στην δεύτερη εβδομάδα, αλλά είναι πρακτικά άχρηστο. Αν δεν του δώσεις δυο τρεις σφαλιάρες και παλέψεις κανα 5λεπτο για να το χρησιμοποιήσεις για 5 δευτερόλεπτα, μέχρι να ξαναχαλάσει.
Φαίνεται πως είναι συχνό πρόβλημα με όλες τις οθόνες σειράς Odyssey και όποιες χρησιμοποιούν το ίδιο joystick.
Δέν πιστέυω πως μια εταιρεία σαν την Samsung, είναι εντάξει με το να έχει τέτοια άθλια κατασκευή σε ένα monitor 500 €

The screen is amazing, coming from a 32-inch AOC I can say that there is no comparison from the 300 euros I bought the AOC to the 600 euros I bought this one, I can say that it is worth its money. Η οθονη ειναι καταπληκτικη εχοντας ερθει απο AOC 32αρα μπορω να πω πως δεν υπαρχει μετρο συγκρισεις απο 300 ευρω που αγορασα την AOC και στα 600 που αγορασα αυτην εδω μπορω να πω πως αξιζει τα λεφτα της.
Βαζω 4 αστερα γιατι θα ηθελα να εχει πιο στιβαρη βαση αλλα δεν νομιζω να αντιμετοπισω καπιο προβλημα!

The monitor is relatively good, but I don't think it's worth more than €400.
It has ghosting in black/gray and classic VA discoloration on the edges (more noticeable in gray color).
The viewing angles are relatively good horizontally, but vertically it is especially noticeable in black. You might be in a dark gaming environment, sit a little lower in your chair, and it will look like you messed with the gamma.
HDR is just marketing. It doesn't make much sense. It's not even bright enough and it doesn't have local dimming. The closest it has is dynamic brightness, and there's no reason for it to be on by default.
The stand is a joke. It's made of plastic and feels like it will break under the weight of the monitor. It's also not adjustable (at least for me. I've seen reviews where it goes up and down). Once you manage to attach it, because they couldn't put a screw (the manual shows attaching it with fingers, by the way), take it off and throw it away as it is, and get a desk mount for €25-€30 to do the job.
The worst part of it all: the joystick for the menu. The menu may be fine (although it has few settings), but the button is useless. Not only did it start having issues in the second week, but it's practically useless. If you don't give it a couple of slaps and struggle for about 5 minutes to use it for 5 seconds until it breaks again, it won't work. It seems to be a common problem with all monitors in the Odyssey series and those that use the same joystick.
I don't believe a company like Samsung is okay with having such poor construction in a €500 monitor.

Αγοράστηκε σε προσφορά στα 409 € και G2A 50 € voucher.
Ο λόγος που την επέλεξα ήταν οτι κοίταγα Ultrawide 1440p 144hz+ συγγεκριμμένα την Gigabyte G34WQC.
Αλλά στα 409 ηταν πολύ καλη τιμή για να προσπεράσω την Samsung.
Έρχοντας απο 27" 16:9 1080p 60hz IPS. Δεν νομίζω οτι μπορώ να πάω πίσω σε 16:9, μου φαίνονται τετράγωνες τωρα πιά. Ούτε σε 60hz.
Η οθόνη είναι σχετικά καλή, δέν πιστεύω όμως οτι αξίζει πανω απο 400 €.

Μια πλαστικούρα, που νιώθεις οτι θα σπάσει κάτω απ' το βάρος της οθόνης και δέν ρυθμίζεται καθόλου (για εμένα τουλάχιστον. Έχω δεί σε reviews που πάει και πάνω - κάτω)
Αφού καταφέρεις να την κουμπώσεις, γιατι δεν μπορύσαν να βάλουν μια βίδα( το manual δείχνει να την κουμπωνει με τα δάχτυλα btw), μετά βγάλτην και πέτα την όπως είναι, και πάρε ένα desk mount των 25 - 30 € για να κάνεις τη δουλειά σου.
Το χειρότερο όλων: Το joystick για το μενού.
Το μενού μπορεί να είναι εντάξει(αν και έχει λίγες ρυθμίσεις) αλλά το κουμπί είναι για πέταμα.
Όχι μόνο άρχισε να παρουσιάζει προβλήματα στην δεύτερη εβδομάδα, αλλά είναι πρακτικά άχρηστο. Αν δεν του δώσεις δυο τρεις σφαλιάρες και παλέψεις κανα 5λεπτο για να το χρησιμοποιήσεις για 5 δευτερόλεπτα, μέχρι να ξαναχαλάσει.
Φαίνεται πως είναι συχνό πρόβλημα με όλες τις οθόνες σειράς Odyssey και όποιες χρησιμοποιούν το ίδιο joystick.
Δέν πιστέυω πως μια εταιρεία σαν την Samsung, είναι εντάξει με το να έχει τέτοια άθλια κατασκευή σε ένα monitor 500 €

The screen is amazing, coming from a 32-inch AOC I can say that there is no comparison from the 300 euros I bought the AOC to the 600 euros I bought this one, I can say that it is worth its money. Η οθονη ειναι καταπληκτικη εχοντας ερθει απο AOC 32αρα μπορω να πω πως δεν υπαρχει μετρο συγκρισεις απο 300 ευρω που αγορασα την AOC και στα 600 που αγορασα αυτην εδω μπορω να πω πως αξιζει τα λεφτα της.
Βαζω 4 αστερα γιατι θα ηθελα να εχει πιο στιβαρη βαση αλλα δεν νομιζω να αντιμετοπισω καπιο προβλημα!

Review after 1 year of use for 8-hour programming and extra for gaming.
It is great for gaming, but don't get it if you want it for work. I struggled for a long time to find comfortable color and contrast settings, and still it is tiring during long use.

Είναι υπέροχη για gaming αλλά μην την πάρετε αν θα την θέλετε για δουλειά. Πάλευα πολύ καιρό να βρω ξεκούραστα settings των χρωμάτων και του contrast, και πάλι στην πολύωρη χρήση ειναι κουραστική.
Θετικά:
- Όμορφα χρώματα,
- Πολύ φωτεινή,
- 165 hz
Αρνητικά:
- δύσχρηστο menu
- κουραστική για πολύωρη χρήση
- η βάση πολύ σφιχτή (δεν ξαναβγαίνει με τίποτα) και όχι στιβαρή
- πολύ λίγα ports για τα χρήματα της
- το HDR του απλά καταστρέφει την εικόνα
Very good purchase! It's worth every penny. The best in its category. Perfect for gaming and more, I also used it for premier pro and it's incredible. The only negative is the color accuracy of Adobe, only 77%... But overall, I highly recommend it. Before, I had two 24-inch monitors and as soon as I switched to one 34-inch (27 inches in height), it was simply magical.
Πολύ καλή αγορα! Αξίζει φουλ για τα λευτά της. Καλύτερη στην κατηγορία της. Οτι πρέπει για gaming και οχι μονο, την δούλεψα και στο premier pro και είναι απίστευτη. Το μόνο αρνητικο είναι η πιστώτητα χρωμάτων της adobe , μόνο 77%... Αλλά γενικά συστήνω ανεπιφύλακτα. Πριν είχα δύο οθόνες 24 inches και με το που γύρισα στην μια 34 (σε ύψος 27) απλά μαγέυτικα.
