Christmas Eve in a modern apartment complex. A lost black glove, a lost ring, and a lost child. A Dwarf and an Angel, metaphysical beings moving from the basement to the attic, among the residents of the urban building.
The "Black Glove," a "lyrical fantasy for the stage" in free iambic verse and with a strong poetic mood, is the fifth chronological dramatic composition with which August Strindberg completed the collection of "chamber works."
The play is presented for the first time in the Greek language by Kappa Publishing, in a translation by Margarita Melberg from Swedish. The volume is enriched with an extensive afterword, specifically written for the edition by Dr. Maria Sehopoulou, a theater scholar, and a detailed timeline of the life and work of the prominent Swedish playwright.
