It can be used in:

  • canister filter

  • box filter
  • any high flow area of a filter

A filter bag is recommended. Use 50 g (1/2 cup) for every 200 L (50 US gallons) of saltwater or 400 L (100 US gallons) of freshwater.

Leave the product in place for 4 days and then test for phosphate or silicate concentrations. If the concentration of the substance you are trying to reduce has not decreased to about 0.02 mg/L, replace the PhosNet; otherwise, leave it in place until levels begin to rise again.

As long as concentrations remain under control, the product does not deplete. Over-treatment is not recommended. PhosNet is not an ion exchange resin and does not release anything into the water. It does not leach phosphate or silicate back into the water and can be removed, dried, and reused until depleted.

Continuous use of small amounts is better than intermittent use of larger amounts.
