Description & Specifications

Seachem PhosNet is an iron-based porous filtration media that adsorbs phosphate and silicate from freshwater and saltwater aquariums. It is not an ion-exchange resin and does not release substances into the water.

Rinse before use and place in an area with high water flow, ensuring that water does not flow directly onto the media itself. It can be used in a canister filter, media chamber, box filter, or another high-flow area, preferably inside a filter bag. To monitor its performance, test phosphate or silicate levels after 4 days. If the concentration has not decreased to approximately 0.02 mg/L, replace the media; otherwise, leave it in the filter until levels begin to rise again. As long as concentrations remain under control, the media is not exhausted. It can be removed, dried, and reused until exhausted.
