Description

Our hypothesis, which is ultimately endorsed by our research, is that multiplicity is the essential category of Nietzsche's thought that ontologically does not reduce to anything else - the will to power is nothing but an expression of the unity, the unifying principle of the primordial multiple.

A key concept in exploring the aforementioned hypothesis is the notion of the mask. At the same time, through the course of our research, different aspects are illuminated: not only the position of the category of multiplicity, the will to power, and the mask in Nietzsche's thought, but also Nietzsche's relationship with Socrates (and Plato), the concept of the tragic, nihilism, the role of imagination, art, the body, wandering, as well as the discourse of suspicion that allows thought to move beyond unity and the absolute, towards the authenticity of multiplicity and the mask.

This kind of reflection, having become un-habitable - that is, a reflection of atopy and wandering - in place of reconciliation, tolerance, or synthesis, poses the between; thus it emerges as multifacetedly dangerous - and perhaps for this reason infinitely open and forbidden.
