This book is a milestone for fans of Epicurean philosophy. This is because it is the first introductory book on Epicurean thought published in Greek, in 1926.
Its writing, however, indicates that in the (still) democratic Germany of the interwar period, the teachings of ancient Greek philosophy, Ionian materialism, and Epicurean philosophy were flourishing, and there, prominent Greek scholars such as Andreas Dalesios and Charalampos Theodoridis taught it.
