From 2020 onwards and with the lockdowns, I went crazy and started collecting miniatures. I was a child of the 80s and 90s and cars like the Ferrari F40 and the Porsche 959 (here) always excited me. I have driven them, after all... in The Duel Test Drive 2, some others in Need for Speed on PC, AMIGA, etc. But they are now old - you can't easily find spare parts :D and mainly I would never have the money to acquire them. So, I indulged in miniatures and I have about 20 of them. Initially, I started with 1/18 scale, but I couldn't find the F40 at first, and even when I did, they were expensive and bulky. The 1/43 scale has variety, but they lack details due to their small size, and proportionally, they are expensive. The 1/24 scale (like this one) seems to be the best choice. I found the 959 in Greece for 20 euros, but I probably bought the last one available, at least from the manufacturer Welly. On eBay, one can get a Welly 959 for around 30 euros. But it seems that I had never properly sorted the results on Skroutz, and about a month ago, I saw this one here. I bought it out of curiosity because it was so cheap, and I concluded that it is fine for display purposes only. Welly ones are somewhat better - they open in the engine and the wheels turn right/left, but even this one, which is what I want for display purposes only, does its job :) .
