I can't understand why there is so much criticism.. Did I buy a different product? I have had it for a week. My wife felt cold one night.. I measure her temperature and it's 38.2.. I measure it again and it's 37.8.. I measure myself and it's 36.6.. I measure my son and it's 36.6.. I measure my wife again and it's 38.
When we talk about digital thermometers with infrared, these deviations of 0.4-0.5 degrees are perfectly normal! It's not like it shows 36 one time and 39 the next.. Read the instructions better, maybe you're doing something wrong.. These thermometers show you "if something is happening".. if something is not right.. If you see 37 or 37+, you don't worry.. it's insignificant.. if it shows 38 and above, something is happening.. that simple.. it gives you the advantage of speed and the ability to measure your child even when they're sleeping.. you don't bother them with a mercury thermometer in the middle of the night when they're already tired and sick!
And it fits perfectly in a child's ear..
Personally, out of all the ones I have used, this one and a forehead one from Microlife are the best.. Especially this one because it's faster, clearer, and not affected by external temperatures like the forehead thermometer..
If I could change something about it, I would add a backlit screen.. that's it.
*The protective caps may slightly alter the result.. it's better not to use them and occasionally disinfect the probe with cotton and alcohol.
I got it for only 10€ from a well-known supermarket chain!!
That's it for now. I might come back if I have something new. Hopefully, it won't be necessary.. for us and for the whole world!
*Update.. it continues to be amazing and the best electronic thermometer I have ever used.. the secret is to always keep the sensor clean with cotton and alcohol and you have nothing to worry about.. I never used the caps.
