The PowerBoost shield allows you to take your Arduino anywhere. This silhouette-shaped form factor offers a slim rechargeable battery, built-in battery charger, and DC boost converter. It is compatible with Arduino Uno, Duemilanove, Mega, Leonardo, and Due, using only the GND and 5V pins.
The PowerBoost shield can operate with any Lithium-Ion or Lithium-Polymer battery (3.7/4.2V), but it is recommended to use 1200mAh or 2000mAh batteries. Connect the battery and charge it via the microUSB port.
The built-in boost converter can provide at least 500mA current and can reach up to 1A. There is an integrated fuse for protection against excessive currents.
The shield comes as a kit with components and requires some soldering for connecting the headers and the switch. The battery, wall adapter, and USB adapter are not included.
