Description

Description

The Nikon Nikkor Z 14-24mm f/2.8 S is an ultra-wide-angle zoom lens for full-frame mirrorless cameras. It delivers outstanding optical performance, fast and silent focusing, advanced anti-reflective coatings, and a durable, weather-sealed construction in an exceptionally compact body.

Ultra-Wide-Angle 14–24mm Zoom Lens with a Constant f/2.8 Aperture

The lens covers a 14–24mm focal-length range with a constant maximum aperture of f/2.8, offering exciting possibilities for photographing landscapes, architecture, and interiors. The wide Z mount ensures excellent light transmission and consistent sharpness from the center to the edges of the frame, rivaling the performance of prime lenses.

Advanced Coatings & Color Fidelity

The optical design consists of 16 elements in 11 groups, including 4 ED elements and 3 aspherical elements. Advanced Nano Crystal Coat and ARNEO Coat technologies dramatically reduce internal reflections, ghosting and flare, enabling faithful reproduction of point light sources, such as stars in night photography.

Fast Focusing & Optimal Smoothness

The internal focusing system offers fast, precise, and virtually silent operation, making the lens ideal for both photography and video recording. The minimum focusing distance is just 0.28m, while the zoom and focus rings are adjusted to provide the right amount of resistance for stable, precise control while shooting.

Extremely Compact & Ready-to-Use Filter System

Weighing just 650g and measuring 88.5 x 124.5 mm, it is one of the smallest and lightest lenses in its class. Despite its wide-angle design, it supports the use of screw-in filters with a diameter of 112mm when used with the special lens hood, and also features a rear slot for gel filters.

Weather Sealing & Fluorine Coating

Extensive sealing around all moving parts protects the lens from dust and moisture, allowing it to be used in harsh environmental conditions. The front element features a special fluorine coating that repels water and dirt, making it easier to clean, while the aluminum mount provides high durability.

Review this product
  • For comparison with the 14-30 f4. Better sharpness, more light, and definitely less distortion on the verticals and horizontals for those who want architectural shots.
    2) I was considering the 16-30 Tamron but didn't get it because 2a) Nikon corrects distortions on camera while Tamron only in Lightroom, and I read about some issues (small but existent). 2b) Those 2mm make a difference in small spaces like bathrooms, and generally, not just there. Keep in mind that you will need to crop at some point due to correcting verticals and horizontals, so you should consider that in the end you will have a photo around 18mm, just like with the Nikon 16mm (random values, I just mean the photo will end up smaller).
