Instead of getting a mediocre laptop for the same money, you get something feather-light and along with a foldable monitor for easy portability, you have something much more powerful and fast. The one problem I have identified is something that, as far as I know, iPhones also have. To push you to buy iCloud, it quickly tells you that you have no more space. Owner of the entire range of APPLE ECO SYSTEM devices, it is the most value for money product the company has ever launched, which has nothing to do with the overpriced systems it has always launched on the market. It is a completely silent machine that I plugged in on the first day and will be permanently in sleep mode for the next few years and I will never shut it down. It boots up in just 3 seconds. It is amazing for demanding professional use, they have fixed all the bugs of 2020 (sleep mode monitor crash, limited variable refresh rate output, HDR, bluetooth disconnections, etc). I discovered that it also has speakers that work satisfactorily. This particular model has 16GB RAM/1TB and I won't need anything else for several years.
A note: the MAC MINI M1 is designed to work perfectly only with 5K monitors (LG ULTRAGEAR 5K / APPLE STUDIO DISPLAY) because only with 5K can you achieve 218 PPI in HIDPI.
Specifically, Apple has blocked HIDPI on 1440p monitors, which do recognize 144Hz (HDMI) & 244Hz (Display USB C Port), but the fonts are not crispy and are blurry to an annoying degree.
However, there are tools to solve this to some extent so that you can at least work on 1440p monitors (but with some searching in the display settings).
1/ You should buy the BETTERDISPLAY application, which permanently creates a dummy 5K monitor and makes the Mac think that the external monitor is 5K, scaling it to 50% in 1440p, where the result is relatively satisfactory for simple tasks (it is not related to the levels of 5K Retina Native Displays).
2/ At the same time, you will need to set the font smoothing intensity from the terminal (preferably 2) and then reboot.

3/ It would help even more for 1440p/HDIPI Mode to purchase the SWITCHRES application for slightly better results.
All programs will run permanently in the background and will be stored in memory even after each reboot (at first they had a problem with sleep mode, but they fixed it with a recent update).
Otherwise, you will have to buy the Apple Studio Retina Display for 1800 Euros for ultimate compatibility with the MAC MINI M1 (as far as professional use is concerned, it is the only way) but it is the perfect Desk Setup (Mac Mini M1 + Apple Studio Display) that enhances the experience

Είναι ενα εντελως αθορυβο μηχανημα που του εβαλα ρευμα την πρωτη μερα και θα είναι μονιμα σε sleep mode για τα επομενα χρονια και δεν θα το κλεισω ποτε. Bootαρει σε ΜΟΛΙΣ 3 δευτερολεπτα. Καθαρα για απαιτητικη επαγγελματικη χρηση είναι καταπληκτικο, εχουν διορθωσει όλα τα bug του 2020 (sleep mode monitor crash, περιορισμος εξοδου variable referesh rate, HDR, bluetοoth αποσυνδεσεις κλπ). ανακαλυψα ότι εχει και ηχεια που λειτουργουν ικανοποιητικα. Το συγκεκριμενο μοντελο είναι στα 16GB Ram/1TB και δεν θα χρειαστω κατι άλλο για αρκετα χρονια
Μια σημειωση το MAC MINI M1 είναι σχεδιασμενο να δουλευει αψογα μονο με 5Κ Οθονες (LG ULTRAGEAR 5K / APPLE STUDIO DISPLAY) διοτι μονο με 5Κ μπορει να πετυχεις 218 PPI σε ΗIDPI.
Συγκεκριμενα η apple εχει μπλοκαρει το HIDPI σε 1440p oθονες που ναι μεν αναγνωριζει 144Hz HDMI) & 244Hz (Display USB C Port) αλλα η γραμματοσειρες δεν είναι crispy και είναι blur σε ενοχλητικο βαθμο..
Όμως υπαρχουν tool για να λυθει μεχρι καποιο βαθμο για να μπορειτε τουλαχιστον να δουλεψετε σε οθονες 1440p (αλλα με αρκετο ψαξιμο στις ρυθμισης ανα οθονη)
1/ ΘΑ πρεπει να αγορασετε την εφαρμογη BETTERDISPLAY oπου δημιουργει μονιμα ένα dummy monitor 5K και νομιζει το mac oτι η εξωτερικη οθονη είναι 5Κ και κανει 50% scale σε 1440p οπου το αποτελεσμα είναι σχετικα ικανοποιητικο για απλες λειτουργιες (δεν εχει σχεση με τα επιπεδα 5Κ Retiva Native Displays)
2/ Παραλληλα θα πρεπει να σεταρετε από το terminal το ποσο εντονα θα είναι η γραμματοσειρα (κατά προτιμηση 2 / και μετα Reboot

Oλα τα προγραμματα θα τρεχουν μονιμα στο background και ακομα σε κάθε reboot θα είναι αποθηκευμενα στην μνημη και θα τρεχουν μονιμα (στην αρχη ειχαν προβλημα στο sleep mode αλλα με προσφατο update το διορθωσαν)
Διαφορετικα θα πρεπει να αγορασετε στα 1800 Ευρω το Apple Studio Retina Display για την απολυτη συμβατοτητα με το MAC MINI M1 (οσο αφορα για επαγγελματικη χρηση ειναι μονοδρομος) αλλα ειναι το τελειο Desk Setup (Mac Mini M1 + Apple Studio Display) που απογεινωνει την εμπειρια
In January 2005, Steve Jobs announced the first Mac mini and said that it is BYODKM (Bring Your Own Display, Keyboard and Mouse), meaning you get the computer from Apple and you provide the rest. I don't know to what extent this applies to the M1 Mac Mini. Initially, I used it with a relatively old but good Samsung monitor. I quickly noticed that there were vertical and horizontal lines visible on the entire screen, even from a distance. At first, I thought the Mac was defective. On the third day, the machine completely burned out. After two weeks, they replaced it for me. The problem with the screen still existed. When I tried the same monitor with an Intel MacBook Pro, it worked flawlessly. That's when I discovered that this is an issue with M1 devices and certain monitor models. So, I decided to buy a new LG monitor. The problem with the lines was gone. However, when the Mac was in sleep mode and I woke it up, the screen would show snow like old analog TVs while the computer was on and producing sound through the speakers. The solution was to restart the monitor. Sometimes, the screen wouldn't show anything at all, and the only solution was to restart the Mac, and of course, without any image, the only way was to hold down the button for a long time, which is dangerous. Other users also have this problem, and no matter what I tried, I couldn't find a solution. As for the keyboard and mouse, I didn't have any issues because I used Apple's, but many users have reported problems due to the device's weak Bluetooth.

Γρήγορα παρατήρησα ότι σε όλη την οθόνη υπήρχαν κάθετες και οριζόντιες γραμμές εμφανές ακόμα και από απόσταση. Στην αρχή νόμιζα πως ήταν ελαττωματικό το Mac. Την Τρίτη κιόλας μέρα το μηχάνημα κάηκε εντελώς. Μετά από δυο εβδομάδες μου το αντικατέστησαν. Το πρόβλημα με την οθόνη υπήρχε ακόμα. Δοκιμάζοντας την ίδια οθόνη με ένα intel MacBook Pro λειτουργούσε απροβλημάτιστα. Τότε ανακάλυψα πως αυτό είναι θέμα των M1 συσκευών με αρκετά μοντέλα οθονών. Τότε λοιπόν αποφάσισα να αγοράσω μια καινούρια της LG. Το πρόβλημα με τις γραμμές δεν υπήρχε. Όμως όταν το Mac ήταν σε sleep mode και το ξύπναγα η οθόνη έβγαζε χιόνια σαν τις παλιές, αναλογικές τηλεοράσεις ενώ ο υπολογιστής ήταν ανοιχτός και έβγαζε ήχο στα ηχεία. Η λύση ήταν να κανείς restart την οθόνη. Κάποιες φορές μάλιστα η οθόνη δεν έδειχνε τίποτα και τότε η μόνη λύση ήταν να κανείς restart το Mac και φυσικά χωρίς εικόνα ο μόνος τρόπος ήταν να κρατήσεις το κουμπί παρατεταμένα, πράγμα επικίνδυνο. Αυτό το πρόβλημα το έχουν και άλλοι χρήστες και ότι και να δοκίμασα δεν βρήκα λύση. Όσο για το πληκτρολόγιο και το ποντίκι εγώ δεν είχα θέμα γιατί χρησιμοποιούσα της apple όμως πολλοί χρήστες έχουν αναφέρει προβλήματα λόγο του αδύναμου Bluetooth της συσκευής.
First of all, it has compatibility issues with games and applications (GoG) that are made for Mac with AS(s) like M1.
Then, the main problem is that it has limited audio output to HDMI, which should pass high-resolution and/or multi-channel formats such as FLAC 96(192)/24, Atmos, DTS HD, etc., based on both the machine and HDMI specifications. However, it converts them to low-resolution before sending them to the external decoder, resulting in a significant loss in sound quality.
Overall, I am EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED with the Mac mini.
I should note that I have 5-6 other Macs (with Intel) that do not have these problems!
Καταρχάς έχει πρβλήματα συμβατότητας με παιχνίδια και εφαρμογές (GoG) που είναι φτιαγμένες για mac με AS(s) όπως το M1.
Έπειτα, το βασικότερο πρόβλημα είναι ότι έχουν περιορίσει την έξοδο ήχου στο HDMI που ενώ βάσει προδιαγραφών τόσο του μηχανήματος όσο και του HDMI θα έπρεπε να περνά υψηλής ανάλυσης ή/και πολυκάναλα format όπως FLAC 96(192)/24, Atmos, DTS HD κλπ, τα μετατρέπει σε χαμηλής ανάλυσης πριν τα στείλει στον εξωτερικό αποκωδικοποιητή χάνοντας ΠΑΡΑ ΠΟΛΥ σε ποιότητα ήχου.
Γενικά είμαι ΑΠΟΛΥΤΑ ΑΠΟΓΟΗΤΕΥΜΕΝΟΣ με το mac mini.
Να σημειώσω ότι έχω 5-6 άλλα mac (με intel) που δεν έχουν αυτά τα προβλήματα!

It may have a thousand "buts" like needing to buy a keyboard, mouse, headset, external hard drive, and of course a monitor... The machine is from another planet for its price. Practically, it's worth as much as a 3-year-old 5000 euro Mac, and even more.
With eyes closed, it has no competition for its price and you don't have to worry for the next 8-10 years.

I come from a 2012 Mac Mini (with full specs), which I tearfully removed from my desk. It was amazing.
I must say that I work with A LOT of open windows. 3-4 browsers x 15-20 open tabs, 2 mail clients, photo editing software, database client, editors, etc.
I got the Mac Mini M1 partly to continue upgrading to the latest operating system, and partly because in some cases, the old Mini would max out the CPU and overheat. I was concerned about the 8GB of RAM (coming from 16) and kept postponing the purchase, but I never found an M1 with 16GB of memory, so I eventually bought it.
What the previous speakers have said is true. Very fast, completely silent, never overheated.
However, the memory, for my unusual data and requirements, is not enough. If you open multiple programs simultaneously, you will strain the machine. Professionals should try to find the version with 16GB of RAM.
"Regular people" will get a computer that will easily last them a decade without any issues.

Πήρα το Mac Mini M1 αφενός για να συνεχίζω να αναβαθμίζομαι στο λειτουργικό, αφετέρου γιατί σε κάποιες περιπτώσεις, το παλιό Mini ανέβαζε CPU και ζεσταινόταν. Προβληματίστηκα για τα 8Gb RAM (προερχόμουν από 16) και ανέβαλα συνεχώς την αγορά, αλλά δεν βρήκα ποτέ M1 με την 16αρα μνήμη, και τελικά το αγόρασα.
Ισχύουν όσα έχουν πει οι προλαλήσαντες. Πολύ γρήγορο, εντελώς αθόρυβο, δεν ζεστάθηκε ποτέ.

A lifelong Windows user, after selling the system due to moving and in combination with the increase in prices, I decided to make a different investment with the same amount of money I had at my disposal due to the sale.
And so it happened, I bought the PS5 games in combination with the Samsung UR55 4K monitors and of course the Mac mini M1.
The purchase has justified me 10000% and I believe that my obsession with changing systems and the anxiety of upgrading has disappeared.
At the price of 650, you can't build a better system than the current one.
Don't be scared by the 8GB RAM, it's like having 16 in Windows.
The machine is incredibly fast for simple use as well as for recording and editing music.
I think I will keep it for several years.

Έτσι και έγινε , αγόρασα για τα παιχνίδια ps5 σε συνδιασμο με 4κ μονιτορ samsung ur55 και φυσικα το Mac mini m1.
Η αγορά με έχει δικαιώσει 10000% και θεωρώ πως μου έχει φύγει η εμμονή το να αλλάζω σύστημα και να έχω το άγχος της αναβάθμισης .
Στα 650 που το αγόρασα , σε καμία περίπτωση δεν φτιάχνεις καλύτερο σύστημα από το παρόν.
Μην σας τρομάζουν τα 8ραμ είναι σαν έχεις 16 σε windows
Το μηχάνημα είναι απίστευτα γρήγορο για απλή χρήση όπως επίσης και για ηχογράφηση και επεξεργασία μουσικής.
Νομίζω πως θα το κρατήσω αρκετά χρόνια.
Επίσης δεν με δυσκόλεψε καθόλου η πλοήγηση , εκτός από τα όρια του φυσιολογικού όταν κάποιος χρήστης , αναλαμβάνει να χειριστεί η νέο περιβάλλον και λογισμικό.

Recently became a Mac mini owner and new to MacOS.
I purchased it for three reasons: 1) as an owner of an iPhone & Watch, I considered it the logical choice to complete the ecosystem since these devices work seamlessly together, 2) I wanted a modern machine for image (Lightroom) & video (Premiere Pro) editing, and 3) I was simply tired of Windows (subjective, of course).
I will focus on 2) because I find it the most interesting compared to everything else, and comparing the Mac mini M1 with 8GB RAM directly to a laptop with an 8th generation i5 at 3.9GHz, 16GB RAM, NVMe2 disk, and Nvidia 1050 2GB RAM, while performing the same heavy tasks using the same programs:
Regarding Lightroom, which is optimized for the M1, there is ABSOLUTELY NO COMPARISON. It loads in half the time (or even less), navigating through the tool tabs is instantaneous, editing is the same, the library of 2,500+ edited .raw photos loads instantly, and scrolling is smooth. Exporting an image takes about a second. IT'S A WHOLE NEW WORLD.
As for Premiere Pro, which is NOT optimized and runs through Rosetta 2, opening takes more time, exporting is the same as on the PC (a Full HD video at 60 FPS with color grading, effects, graphics, and .wav music in H.264 takes about 4 minutes), BUT during program usage, everything is faster. It's like playing an FPS game at 45 frames and now at 120!
Beyond that, I don't miss anything. I have Office 365, OneDrive, all the apps I used to use, including more specialized ones like Elgato Control, OBS, etc.
I unlock it with my Watch, no longer need my iPhone while I'm at the office, I play sound through the HomePod mini (BTW, it's amazing), I have 15+ heavy pages open in Safari (e.g., YouTube), open social apps (e.g., Signal, WhatsApp), Outlook, and the processor is idle (useless) at 94%!

Πρόσφατα κάτοχος Mac mini και νέος στο λειτουργικό MacOS.
Αγόρασα το συγκεκριμένο για τρεις λόγους: 1) όντας κάτοχος iPhone & Watch το θεώρησα ως τη λογική επιλογή για την ολοκλήρωση του οικοσυστήματος αφού μεταξύ τους πλέον αυτές οι συσκευές συνεργάζονται άψογα κι απρόσκοπτα, 2) ήθελα ένα σύγχρονο μηχάνημα για επεξεργασία εικόνας (Lightroom) & βίντεο (Premiere Pro) και 3) απλά είχα βαρεθεί τα Windows (προφανώς υποκειμενικό αυτό).
Θα σταθώ στο 2) διότι το θεωρώ ως και το πιο ενδιαφέρον σε σχέση με όλα τα άλλα και βάζοντας το Mac mini Μ1 με 8GB RAM σε ευθεία σύγκριση με ένα φορητό υπολογιστή με i5 8ης γενιάς στα 3.9GHz, 16GB RAM, δίσκο NVMe2 & Nvidia 1050 2GB RAM κι εκτελώντας τις ίδιες βαριές εργασίες χρησιμοποιώντας τα ίδια προγράμματα:
Όσο αφορά το Lightroom που είναι optimised για τον Μ1, ΚΑΜΙΑ ΑΠΟΛΥΤΩΣ ΣΧΕΣΗ. Φορτώνει στον μισό (..ή και λιγότερο) χρόνο, η πλοήγηση στις καρτέλες με τα εργαλεία γίνεται στιγμιαία, η επεξεργασία το ίδιο, η βιβλιοθήκη των 2.500+ .raw επεξεργασμένων φωτογραφιών φορτώνει άμεσα και το scroll γίνεται χωρίς σπασίματα. Το export μιας εικόνας περίπου στο δευτερόλεπτο. ΑΛΛΟΣ ΚΟΣΜΟΣ.
Όσο αφορά το Premiere Pro που ΔΕΝ είναι optimised και τρέχει μέσω Rosetta 2, το άνοιγμα παίρνει περισσότερη ώρα, το export το ίδιο με το PC (ένα βίντεο Full HD στα 60 FPS με color grading, effects, graphics και μουσική .wav σε H.264 περίπου 4') ΑΛΛΑ κατά τη διάρκεια χρήσης του προγράμματος, όλα γίνονται πιο γρήγορα. Σαν να έπαιζες ένα FPS παιχνίδι στα 45 frames και τώρα στα 120!
Από εκεί και πέρα, δε μου λείπει κάτι. Έχω κανονικά το Office 365, OneDrive, όλες τις εφαρμογές που χρησιμοποιούσα και είναι πιο εξειδικευμένες (ΠΧ Elgato Control), OBS κ.α.
Το ξεκλειδώνω με το Watch, δε χρειάζομαι πια το iPhone ενόσο είμαι στο γραφείο, δίνω ήχο στο HomePod mini (BTW, τα σπάει), έχω ανοικτές 15+ βαριές σελίδες στον Safari (ΠΧ YouTube), ανοικτές social εφαρμογές (ΠΧ Signal, WhatsApp..), το Outlook και ο επεξεργαστής είναι idle (σε αχρηστία) κατά 94%!
Μοναδικό που μου λείπει; Μια θύρα για κάρτες SD.
Bonus: ότι πιο καλαίσθητο σε mini υπολογιστή.
Whatever someone says, it's not enough. The M1 replaces a 2013 iMac with an SSD and 16 GB of memory. Whatever I say about this iMac is not enough. It's an incredible machine with thousands of hours of work and entertainment at home. It's so good that I decided not to sell it and let my son use it as his main machine. Now let's talk about the M1. Amazing, incredibly fast, quiet, and ultimately versatile. Its speed for everyday tasks is hard to perceive. The iMac boots in 40 seconds... the M1 in 7. Pages open in milliseconds, it can stream 4K on YouTube, and can perform dozens of other tasks simultaneously. It truly is something very different from what we are used to. I have a comparison with a Lenovo i5 all-in-one 24-inch that we recently bought for our younger son for remote learning with the same amount of money, and the difference is chaotic.
Now let's move on to the negatives... It's not actually cheap... And I'll start:
32-inch 4K USB-C monitor... 400 euros
External USB-C SSD 1TB... 140 euros for something fast
Keyboard and mouse are mine, but if I needed them, Apple originals would cost 200 euros just for fun
1080 camera, 50 euros; VESA mount to attach it to the back of the monitor, 39 euros; cable management, 20 euros
Thunderbolt 3 to USB-C cable... for the monitor (to use the monitor as a USB hub), 40 euros
So... if you want it complete, it can easily reach 1700 euros, although for a user who just wants to get their work done with whatever is around, the cost can be half of that.
Is it worth it? With a thousand times, the answer is yes, even at 1700 euros. The reasons are:
There is no 32-inch iMac.

Πραγματικά οτι και να πεί κάποιος ειναι λιγο. Το Μ1 αντικαθιστα ενα iMac του 2013 το οποιο είχε SSD και 16 gb μνημη. Οτι και να πω για αυτο το iMac ειναι πολύ λιγο. Απιστευτο μηχάνημα με χιλιάδες ωρες work at home και διασκέδασης. Τοσο καλό που αποφάσισα να μην το πουλήσω και να μείνει στον γιο μου σαν βασικο του μηχάνημα. Τωρα παμε στο Μ1. Καταπληκτικο, απιστευτα γρηγορο, ησυχο και τελικα versatile. Η ταχυτητα του για καθημερινες εργασίες είναι δυσκολο να γινει αντιληπτή. Το imac bootαρει σε 40 δευτερολεπτα....το Μ1 σε 7. Οι σελίδες ανοίγουν σε χιλιοστα δευτερολεπτου , στο youtube streamaρει 4k , ενω μπορεί παραλληλα να κάνει δεκαδες αλλες εργασίες. Πραγματικα ειναι κατι πολυ διαφορετικό απο αυτα που εχουμε τωρα συνηθισει. Εχω μετρο συγκρισης ενα lenovo i5 all in one 24αρι που πηραμε πρόσφατα για τον μικρότερο γιο για τα μαθηματα απο το σπιτι σα ίδια χρηματα και η διαφορά ειναι χαοτική.
Πάμε τωρα στα αρνητικά....ΔΕΝ ΕΙΝΑΙ τελικα φθηνο.....Και ξεκιναω:

Thunderbolt 3 to USB-c cable......για το μονιτορ (για να χρησιμοποιώ το monitor σαν USB hub) 40 euro
Αρα....αν το θελεις ολοκληρομένο μπορεί εύκολα να φτάσει τα 1700 ευρω αν και για ενα χρηστη που απλά θελει να κανει την δουλεία του με οτι υπαρχει γυρω του το κοστος μπορει να ειναι το μισο.

Ρεαλιστικα, χρειάζεσαι αν δεν τα εχεις, ενα 4κ 32αρι μοιτορ, μια καμερα, ενα αξιοπρεπες ποντικι και πληκτρολογιο, ενα HDMI καλωδιο και ενα εξωτερικο SSD. ολα αυτα αγγίζουν τα 1500 ευρω και νομιζω οτι δυσκολα θα ματσάρεις με PC αυτη την τιμη. Να αναφερουμε εδω οτι το συστημα ερχεται ολοκληρωμενο με δυνατα office suite, επεξεργασια βιντεοκια φωτογραφίας, icloud storage 5 gb και aupport για τουλαχιστον 8 χρονια.

I got the mac mini with the M1 as part of replacing all my PCs and I don't regret it at all.
I had my doubts about the 8GB RAM, but the PC actually performs maybe even better and more smoothly than the 13.3-inch macbook pro with i5 16gb/1tb ssd that I have. The machine never heats up. The only drawback compared to its predecessor is the fewer (2) USB-C ports it has.
Another drawback, but not of the machine itself, is that it will take some time for all programs to adapt and run on computers with the M1 processor.
I use it for office, autocad 2d, browsing, etc. in other words, with light use.
I have it connected to an LG 4k monitor, an Apple keyboard, and a Dell Bluetooth mouse.
Το mac mini με τον M1 τον πήρα στα πλαίσια αλλαγής όλων των pc μου και δεν το μετάνιωσα καθόλου.
Είχα τις αμφιβολίες μου σχετικά με την 8GB μνήμη RAM αλλά πραγματικά το pc με τα ίδια προγράμματα συμπεριφέρεται ίσως και καλύτερα και πιο ξεκούραστα από το macbook pro 13,3 με i5 16gb/1tb ssd που έχω στην κατοχή μου. Το μηχάνημα δεν ανεβάζει ποτέ θερμοκρασία. Το μόνο μειονέκτημα του σε σχέδη με τον προκάτοχο του είναι οι πιο λίγες (2) θύρες usb-c που διαθέτει.
Ενα ακόμα μειονέκτημα αλλά όχι του μηχανήματος είναι ότι πρέπει να περάσει ακόμα καιρός μέχρι να προσαρμοστούν όλα τα προγράμματα και να τρέχουν στους συγκεκριμένους υπολογιστές με τον M1 επεξεργαστή.
Το χρησιμοποιώ για office, autocad 2d, broswing κλπ. κοινώς με ελαφριά χρήση.
Το έχω συνδέσει με οθόνη της LG 4k, apple keyboard και dell mouse bluetooth.
I have had the Mac Mini M1 for 2 months now. As I mentioned before, if you work with FCPX, then buying it is a one-way street. It performs very well! Just be careful with plugins... Most of them do not run on the M1.
However, what I have noticed is that when I start doing a really "heavy" task, the M1 doesn't handle it well... I'm referring to Lightroom, Photoshop, and other 3rd party programs. My old MacBook Pro 15" 2017 performed much better.
FIRST THOUGHTS:
I bought it 2 weeks ago, after giving away my MacBook Pro 15" 2017. Working exclusively on video and photo editing, I can say that I am divided about the purchase.
Specifically, in Lightroom, I can say that it is considerably slower than the MacBook Pro I was using until recently... I should note that I have the M1 version of Adobe... I was really disappointed with this... Presumably, it worked very well on the MacBook due to the second card.

Η εγκατάσταση του microsoft office και του chrome συνέβαλε στο να είναι το περιβάλλον πιο γνώριμο. Οι ιστοσελίδες ανοίγουν λες και είναι κάτω απο το enter, δοκίμασα το handbreak και μετέτρεψα κάτι βίντεο επίσης ταχύτατα. Αν κάποιος ψάχνει ένα μικρό σε όγκο υπολογιστή πολύ γρήγορο για δουλειές γραφείου, επεξεργασία βίντεο κλπ θα ήταν παράλειψη να μην το κοιτάξει.

It gives you access to folders you need, if you are a power user and do many program installations like an engineering student, then it doesn't work...
If you are into video and photography, then this is the place for you.
Still, the chip and the OS are in their early stages, but soon everyone will synchronize with it.

AFTER 2 WEEKS OF USE
I have installed the 30-day trial versions of Premiere, Photoshop, DaVinci, etc. to test their capabilities, and they work perfectly for home use. I want to test the functionality of Adobe Premiere until they release the update for Big Sur and M1 before purchasing it.
Instead of MS Office, it has the free Apple alternative, which is great!

έχω εγκαταστήσει για να τεστάρω δυνατότητες τις εκδόσεις των 30 ημερών για Premiere, Photoshop, DaVinci κτλ και πάνε σφαίρα για επίπεδο οικιακής χρήσης. Θέλω να τεστάρω την λειτουργία της adobe premiere μέχρι να βγάλουν το update για Big Sur και τον Μ1 πρίν το αγοράσω.

The most value for money to performance ratio choice for a new small computer running MAC OS.
It does not have boot camp and does not run Windows virtualization. It also does not support an external graphics card via Thunderbolt. Additionally, it has 2 fewer thunderbolt/USB 4 ports. It also supports up to 2 external monitors, 1 via HDMI and 1 via USB4/Thunderbolt up to 6k, and the second one via HDMI up to 4k. This means you cannot connect 3 1080p monitors.
If you want a third monitor, it supports SIDE CAR, meaning you can use an iPad as the third monitor.
Now, some iPhone apps from the Mac App Store do not open, but they will fix this.

Δεν έχει boot camp και δεν τρέχει Virtualisation τα Windows. Επίσης δεν δέχεται εξωτερική κάρτα γραφικών μέσω Thunderbolt. Επίσης έχει 2 λιγότερες thunderbolt / USB 4 Ports. Επίσης υποστηρίζει μέχρι 2 εξωτερικές οθόνες 1 μέσω HDMI 1 μέσω USB4/Thunderbolt μέχρι 6κ και η 2η μέσω HDMI μέχρι 4κ. Δηλαδή 3 οθόνες 1080p ΔΕΝ μπορείτε να συνδέσετε.

Για φωτογραφίες βίντεο κλπ για απλή χρήση ειδικά εάν δεν χρησιμοποιείται Google Chrome που δεν έχει γίνει optimize και κολλάει είναι τέλειο - ιδανικό - value for money.
Τα περισσότερα από όσα προβλήματα ανέφερα θα τα φτιάξουν σιγά σιγά.

Owner of the entire range of APPLE ECO SYSTEM devices, it is the most value for money product the company has ever launched, which has nothing to do with the overpriced systems it has always launched on the market. It is a completely silent machine that I plugged in on the first day and will be permanently in sleep mode for the next few years and I will never shut it down. It boots up in just 3 seconds. It is amazing for demanding professional use, they have fixed all the bugs of 2020 (sleep mode monitor crash, limited variable refresh rate output, HDR, bluetooth disconnections, etc). I discovered that it also has speakers that work satisfactorily. This particular model has 16GB RAM/1TB and I won't need anything else for several years.
A note: the MAC MINI M1 is designed to work perfectly only with 5K monitors (LG ULTRAGEAR 5K / APPLE STUDIO DISPLAY) because only with 5K can you achieve 218 PPI in HIDPI.
Specifically, Apple has blocked HIDPI on 1440p monitors, which do recognize 144Hz (HDMI) & 244Hz (Display USB C Port), but the fonts are not crispy and are blurry to an annoying degree.
However, there are tools to solve this to some extent so that you can at least work on 1440p monitors (but with some searching in the display settings).
1/ You should buy the BETTERDISPLAY application, which permanently creates a dummy 5K monitor and makes the Mac think that the external monitor is 5K, scaling it to 50% in 1440p, where the result is relatively satisfactory for simple tasks (it is not related to the levels of 5K Retina Native Displays).
2/ At the same time, you will need to set the font smoothing intensity from the terminal (preferably 2) and then reboot.

All programs will run permanently in the background and will be stored in memory even after each reboot (at first they had a problem with sleep mode, but they fixed it with a recent update).

Είναι ενα εντελως αθορυβο μηχανημα που του εβαλα ρευμα την πρωτη μερα και θα είναι μονιμα σε sleep mode για τα επομενα χρονια και δεν θα το κλεισω ποτε. Bootαρει σε ΜΟΛΙΣ 3 δευτερολεπτα. Καθαρα για απαιτητικη επαγγελματικη χρηση είναι καταπληκτικο, εχουν διορθωσει όλα τα bug του 2020 (sleep mode monitor crash, περιορισμος εξοδου variable referesh rate, HDR, bluetοoth αποσυνδεσεις κλπ). ανακαλυψα ότι εχει και ηχεια που λειτουργουν ικανοποιητικα. Το συγκεκριμενο μοντελο είναι στα 16GB Ram/1TB και δεν θα χρειαστω κατι άλλο για αρκετα χρονια
Μια σημειωση το MAC MINI M1 είναι σχεδιασμενο να δουλευει αψογα μονο με 5Κ Οθονες (LG ULTRAGEAR 5K / APPLE STUDIO DISPLAY) διοτι μονο με 5Κ μπορει να πετυχεις 218 PPI σε ΗIDPI.
Συγκεκριμενα η apple εχει μπλοκαρει το HIDPI σε 1440p oθονες που ναι μεν αναγνωριζει 144Hz HDMI) & 244Hz (Display USB C Port) αλλα η γραμματοσειρες δεν είναι crispy και είναι blur σε ενοχλητικο βαθμο..
Όμως υπαρχουν tool για να λυθει μεχρι καποιο βαθμο για να μπορειτε τουλαχιστον να δουλεψετε σε οθονες 1440p (αλλα με αρκετο ψαξιμο στις ρυθμισης ανα οθονη)
1/ ΘΑ πρεπει να αγορασετε την εφαρμογη BETTERDISPLAY oπου δημιουργει μονιμα ένα dummy monitor 5K και νομιζει το mac oτι η εξωτερικη οθονη είναι 5Κ και κανει 50% scale σε 1440p οπου το αποτελεσμα είναι σχετικα ικανοποιητικο για απλες λειτουργιες (δεν εχει σχεση με τα επιπεδα 5Κ Retiva Native Displays)
2/ Παραλληλα θα πρεπει να σεταρετε από το terminal το ποσο εντονα θα είναι η γραμματοσειρα (κατά προτιμηση 2 / και μετα Reboot

Oλα τα προγραμματα θα τρεχουν μονιμα στο background και ακομα σε κάθε reboot θα είναι αποθηκευμενα στην μνημη και θα τρεχουν μονιμα (στην αρχη ειχαν προβλημα στο sleep mode αλλα με προσφατο update το διορθωσαν)
Διαφορετικα θα πρεπει να αγορασετε στα 1800 Ευρω το Apple Studio Retina Display για την απολυτη συμβατοτητα με το MAC MINI M1 (οσο αφορα για επαγγελματικη χρηση ειναι μονοδρομος) αλλα ειναι το τελειο Desk Setup (Mac Mini M1 + Apple Studio Display) που απογεινωνει την εμπειρια
In January 2005, Steve Jobs announced the first Mac mini and said that it is BYODKM (Bring Your Own Display, Keyboard and Mouse), meaning you get the computer from Apple and you provide the rest. I don't know to what extent this applies to the M1 Mac Mini. Initially, I used it with a relatively old but good Samsung monitor. I quickly noticed that there were vertical and horizontal lines visible on the entire screen, even from a distance. At first, I thought the Mac was defective. When I tried the same monitor with an Intel MacBook Pro, it worked flawlessly. That's when I discovered that this is an issue with M1 devices and certain monitor models. So, I decided to buy a new LG monitor. The problem with the lines was gone. However, when the Mac was in sleep mode and I woke it up, the screen would show snow like old analog TVs while the computer was on and producing sound through the speakers. The solution was to restart the monitor. Sometimes, the screen wouldn't show anything at all, and the only solution was to restart the Mac, and of course, without any image, the only way was to hold down the button for a long time, which is dangerous. Other users also have this problem, and no matter what I tried, I couldn't find a solution. As for the keyboard and mouse, I didn't have any issues because I used Apple's, but many users have reported problems due to the device's weak Bluetooth.

Τότε λοιπόν αποφάσισα να αγοράσω μια καινούρια της LG. Το πρόβλημα με τις γραμμές δεν υπήρχε. Όμως όταν το Mac ήταν σε sleep mode και το ξύπναγα η οθόνη έβγαζε χιόνια σαν τις παλιές, αναλογικές τηλεοράσεις ενώ ο υπολογιστής ήταν ανοιχτός και έβγαζε ήχο στα ηχεία. Η λύση ήταν να κανείς restart την οθόνη. Κάποιες φορές μάλιστα η οθόνη δεν έδειχνε τίποτα και τότε η μόνη λύση ήταν να κανείς restart το Mac και φυσικά χωρίς εικόνα ο μόνος τρόπος ήταν να κρατήσεις το κουμπί παρατεταμένα, πράγμα επικίνδυνο. Αυτό το πρόβλημα το έχουν και άλλοι χρήστες και ότι και να δοκίμασα δεν βρήκα λύση. Όσο για το πληκτρολόγιο και το ποντίκι εγώ δεν είχα θέμα γιατί χρησιμοποιούσα της apple όμως πολλοί χρήστες έχουν αναφέρει προβλήματα λόγο του αδύναμου Bluetooth της συσκευής.

Then, the main problem is that it has limited audio output to HDMI, which should pass high-resolution and/or multi-channel formats such as FLAC 96(192)/24, Atmos, DTS HD, etc., based on both the machine and HDMI specifications. However, it converts them to low-resolution before sending them to the external decoder, resulting in a significant loss in sound quality.
Overall, I am EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED with the Mac mini.
I should note that I have 5-6 other Macs (with Intel) that do not have these problems!

Έπειτα, το βασικότερο πρόβλημα είναι ότι έχουν περιορίσει την έξοδο ήχου στο HDMI που ενώ βάσει προδιαγραφών τόσο του μηχανήματος όσο και του HDMI θα έπρεπε να περνά υψηλής ανάλυσης ή/και πολυκάναλα format όπως FLAC 96(192)/24, Atmos, DTS HD κλπ, τα μετατρέπει σε χαμηλής ανάλυσης πριν τα στείλει στον εξωτερικό αποκωδικοποιητή χάνοντας ΠΑΡΑ ΠΟΛΥ σε ποιότητα ήχου.
Γενικά είμαι ΑΠΟΛΥΤΑ ΑΠΟΓΟΗΤΕΥΜΕΝΟΣ με το mac mini.
Να σημειώσω ότι έχω 5-6 άλλα mac (με intel) που δεν έχουν αυτά τα προβλήματα!

Specifically, Apple has blocked HIDPI on 1440p monitors, which do recognize 144Hz (HDMI) & 244Hz (Display USB C Port), but the fonts are not crispy and are blurry to an annoying degree.
However, there are tools to solve this to some extent so that you can at least work on 1440p monitors (but with some searching in the display settings).
1/ You should buy the BETTERDISPLAY application, which permanently creates a dummy 5K monitor and makes the Mac think that the external monitor is 5K, scaling it to 50% in 1440p, where the result is relatively satisfactory for simple tasks (it is not related to the levels of 5K Retina Native Displays).

Μπορεί να έχει χίλια "αλλά" όπως ότι χρειάζεται να αγοράσεις πληκτρολόγιο, ποντίκι, χαμπάκι, εξωτερικό σκληρό και φυσικά οθόνη... Το μηχάνημα είναι από άλλον πλανήτη για τα χρήματά του. Πρακτικά αξίζει όσο ένα mac τριετίας των 5000 ευρώ και ακόμα πιο πολύ.
Με κλειστά τα μάτια, στα χρήματά του δεν έχει ανταγωνισμό και ξενοιάζεις για τα επόμενα 8-10 χρόνια.
I come from a 2012 Mac Mini (with full specs), which I tearfully removed from my desk. It was amazing.
I must say that I work with A LOT of open windows. 3-4 browsers x 15-20 open tabs, 2 mail clients, photo editing software, database client, editors, etc.
I got the Mac Mini M1 partly to continue upgrading to the latest operating system, and partly because in some cases, the old Mini would max out the CPU and overheat. I was concerned about the 8GB of RAM (coming from 16) and kept postponing the purchase, but I never found an M1 with 16GB of memory, so I eventually bought it.
What the previous speakers have said is true. Very fast, completely silent, never overheated.
However, the memory, for my unusual data and requirements, is not enough. If you open multiple programs simultaneously, you will strain the machine. Professionals should try to find the version with 16GB of RAM.
"Regular people" will get a computer that will easily last them a decade without any issues.
Προέρχομαι από ένα Mac Mini 2012 (με φουλ χαρακτηριστικά), το οποίο με δάκρυα ξήλωσα από το γραφείο μου. Ήταν καταπληκτικό.
Πρέπει να πω ότι δουλεύω με ΠΑΡΑ πολλά παράθυρα ανοικτά. 3-4 browsers x 15-20 σελίδες ανοιχτές, 2 mail clients, photo editing software, database client, editors, κλπ.
Πήρα το Mac Mini M1 αφενός για να συνεχίζω να αναβαθμίζομαι στο λειτουργικό, αφετέρου γιατί σε κάποιες περιπτώσεις, το παλιό Mini ανέβαζε CPU και ζεσταινόταν. Προβληματίστηκα για τα 8Gb RAM (προερχόμουν από 16) και ανέβαλα συνεχώς την αγορά, αλλά δεν βρήκα ποτέ M1 με την 16αρα μνήμη, και τελικά το αγόρασα.
Ισχύουν όσα έχουν πει οι προλαλήσαντες. Πολύ γρήγορο, εντελώς αθόρυβο, δεν ζεστάθηκε ποτέ.
Η μνήμη του όμως, για τα δικά μου ασυνήθιστα δεδομένα και απαιτήσεις, δεν είναι αρκετή. Αν ανοίγετε πολλά προγράμματα ταυτόχρονα θα το ζορίσετε το μηχάνημα. Οι επαγγελματίες να προσπαθήσουν να βρουν την έκδοση με τα 16Gb RAM.
Οι "κανονικοί άνθρωποι" θα πάρουν έναν υπερυπολογιστή που θα τους βγάλει άνετα μια δεκαετία, χωρίς προβλήματα.
A lifelong Windows user, after selling the system due to moving and in combination with the increase in prices, I decided to make a different investment with the same amount of money I had at my disposal due to the sale.
And so it happened, I bought the PS5 games in combination with the Samsung UR55 4K monitors and of course the Mac mini M1.
The purchase has justified me 10000% and I believe that my obsession with changing systems and the anxiety of upgrading has disappeared.
At the price of 650, you can't build a better system than the current one.
Don't be scared by the 8GB RAM, it's like having 16 in Windows.
The machine is incredibly fast for simple use as well as for recording and editing music.
I think I will keep it for several years.
Also, navigation did not give me any trouble, except for the limits of normality when a user takes on the task of handling new environment and software.

Μια ζωή χρήστης windows , αφού πούλησα το σύστημα λόγω μετακόμισης και σε συδνιασμο με την αύξηση των τιμών , είπα να κάνω ένα διαφορετικό επιχείρημα με τα ίδια χρήματα όπου είχα στην διάθεση μου λόγω της πώλησης .
Έτσι και έγινε , αγόρασα για τα παιχνίδια ps5 σε συνδιασμο με 4κ μονιτορ samsung ur55 και φυσικα το Mac mini m1.
Η αγορά με έχει δικαιώσει 10000% και θεωρώ πως μου έχει φύγει η εμμονή το να αλλάζω σύστημα και να έχω το άγχος της αναβάθμισης .
Στα 650 που το αγόρασα , σε καμία περίπτωση δεν φτιάχνεις καλύτερο σύστημα από το παρόν.

Νομίζω πως θα το κρατήσω αρκετά χρόνια.
Επίσης δεν με δυσκόλεψε καθόλου η πλοήγηση , εκτός από τα όρια του φυσιολογικού όταν κάποιος χρήστης , αναλαμβάνει να χειριστεί η νέο περιβάλλον και λογισμικό.

Recently became a Mac mini owner and new to MacOS.
I purchased it for three reasons: 1) as an owner of an iPhone & Watch, I considered it the logical choice to complete the ecosystem since these devices work seamlessly together, 2) I wanted a modern machine for image (Lightroom) & video (Premiere Pro) editing, and 3) I was simply tired of Windows (subjective, of course).
I will focus on 2) because I find it the most interesting compared to everything else, and comparing the Mac mini M1 with 8GB RAM directly to a laptop with an 8th generation i5 at 3.9GHz, 16GB RAM, NVMe2 disk, and Nvidia 1050 2GB RAM, while performing the same heavy tasks using the same programs:
Regarding Lightroom, which is optimized for the M1, there is ABSOLUTELY NO COMPARISON. It loads in half the time (or even less), navigating through the tool tabs is instantaneous, editing is the same, the library of 2,500+ edited .raw photos loads instantly, and scrolling is smooth. Exporting an image takes about a second. IT'S A WHOLE NEW WORLD.
As for Premiere Pro, which is NOT optimized and runs through Rosetta 2, opening takes more time, exporting is the same as on the PC (a Full HD video at 60 FPS with color grading, effects, graphics, and .wav music in H.264 takes about 4 minutes), BUT during program usage, everything is faster. It's like playing an FPS game at 45 frames and now at 120!
Beyond that, I don't miss anything. I have Office 365, OneDrive, all the apps I used to use, including more specialized ones like Elgato Control, OBS, etc.
I unlock it with my Watch, no longer need my iPhone while I'm at the office, I play sound through the HomePod mini (BTW, it's amazing), I have 15+ heavy pages open in Safari (e.g., YouTube), open social apps (e.g., Signal, WhatsApp), Outlook, and the processor is idle (useless) at 94%!
The only thing I miss is an SD card slot.
Bonus: the most aesthetically pleasing mini computer.

Αγόρασα το συγκεκριμένο για τρεις λόγους: 1) όντας κάτοχος iPhone & Watch το θεώρησα ως τη λογική επιλογή για την ολοκλήρωση του οικοσυστήματος αφού μεταξύ τους πλέον αυτές οι συσκευές συνεργάζονται άψογα κι απρόσκοπτα, 2) ήθελα ένα σύγχρονο μηχάνημα για επεξεργασία εικόνας (Lightroom) & βίντεο (Premiere Pro) και 3) απλά είχα βαρεθεί τα Windows (προφανώς υποκειμενικό αυτό).
Θα σταθώ στο 2) διότι το θεωρώ ως και το πιο ενδιαφέρον σε σχέση με όλα τα άλλα και βάζοντας το Mac mini Μ1 με 8GB RAM σε ευθεία σύγκριση με ένα φορητό υπολογιστή με i5 8ης γενιάς στα 3.9GHz, 16GB RAM, δίσκο NVMe2 & Nvidia 1050 2GB RAM κι εκτελώντας τις ίδιες βαριές εργασίες χρησιμοποιώντας τα ίδια προγράμματα:
Όσο αφορά το Lightroom που είναι optimised για τον Μ1, ΚΑΜΙΑ ΑΠΟΛΥΤΩΣ ΣΧΕΣΗ. Φορτώνει στον μισό (..ή και λιγότερο) χρόνο, η πλοήγηση στις καρτέλες με τα εργαλεία γίνεται στιγμιαία, η επεξεργασία το ίδιο, η βιβλιοθήκη των 2.500+ .raw επεξεργασμένων φωτογραφιών φορτώνει άμεσα και το scroll γίνεται χωρίς σπασίματα. Το export μιας εικόνας περίπου στο δευτερόλεπτο. ΑΛΛΟΣ ΚΟΣΜΟΣ.
Όσο αφορά το Premiere Pro που ΔΕΝ είναι optimised και τρέχει μέσω Rosetta 2, το άνοιγμα παίρνει περισσότερη ώρα, το export το ίδιο με το PC (ένα βίντεο Full HD στα 60 FPS με color grading, effects, graphics και μουσική .wav σε H.264 περίπου 4') ΑΛΛΑ κατά τη διάρκεια χρήσης του προγράμματος, όλα γίνονται πιο γρήγορα. Σαν να έπαιζες ένα FPS παιχνίδι στα 45 frames και τώρα στα 120!
Από εκεί και πέρα, δε μου λείπει κάτι. Έχω κανονικά το Office 365, OneDrive, όλες τις εφαρμογές που χρησιμοποιούσα και είναι πιο εξειδικευμένες (ΠΧ Elgato Control), OBS κ.α.
Το ξεκλειδώνω με το Watch, δε χρειάζομαι πια το iPhone ενόσο είμαι στο γραφείο, δίνω ήχο στο HomePod mini (BTW, τα σπάει), έχω ανοικτές 15+ βαριές σελίδες στον Safari (ΠΧ YouTube), ανοικτές social εφαρμογές (ΠΧ Signal, WhatsApp..), το Outlook και ο επεξεργαστής είναι idle (σε αχρηστία) κατά 94%!
Μοναδικό που μου λείπει; Μια θύρα για κάρτες SD.
Bonus: ότι πιο καλαίσθητο σε mini υπολογιστή.
Whatever someone says, it's not enough. The M1 replaces a 2013 iMac with an SSD and 16 GB of memory. Whatever I say about this iMac is not enough. It's an incredible machine with thousands of hours of work and entertainment at home. It's so good that I decided not to sell it and let my son use it as his main machine. Now let's talk about the M1. Amazing, incredibly fast, quiet, and ultimately versatile. Its speed for everyday tasks is hard to perceive. The iMac boots in 40 seconds... the M1 in 7. Pages open in milliseconds, it can stream 4K on YouTube, and can perform dozens of other tasks simultaneously. It truly is something very different from what we are used to. I have a comparison with a Lenovo i5 all-in-one 24-inch that we recently bought for our younger son for remote learning with the same amount of money, and the difference is chaotic.
Now let's move on to the negatives... It's not actually cheap... And I'll start:
32-inch 4K USB-C monitor... 400 euros
External USB-C SSD 1TB... 140 euros for something fast
Keyboard and mouse are mine, but if I needed them, Apple originals would cost 200 euros just for fun
1080 camera, 50 euros; VESA mount to attach it to the back of the monitor, 39 euros; cable management, 20 euros
Thunderbolt 3 to USB-C cable... for the monitor (to use the monitor as a USB hub), 40 euros
So... if you want it complete, it can easily reach 1700 euros, although for a user who just wants to get their work done with whatever is around, the cost can be half of that.
Is it worth it? With a thousand times, the answer is yes, even at 1700 euros. The reasons are:
There is no 32-inch iMac.
The performance is better than the latest i7 2020 27-inch iMac, which costs about 3,000 euros (https://youtu.be/Mf7WY4UkFV4?t=772). Although I have to admit, after 16 years of working only on iMacs, I find the heterogeneous setup unpleasant.
Realistically, if you don't have them, you need a 32-inch 4K monitor, a camera, a decent mouse and keyboard, an HDMI cable, and an external SSD. All of these add up to around 1500 euros, and I think it would be difficult to match this price with a PC. It's worth mentioning here that the system comes complete with powerful office suite, video and photo editing, 5 GB of iCloud storage, and support for at least 8 years.
Πραγματικά οτι και να πεί κάποιος ειναι λιγο. Το Μ1 αντικαθιστα ενα iMac του 2013 το οποιο είχε SSD και 16 gb μνημη. Οτι και να πω για αυτο το iMac ειναι πολύ λιγο. Απιστευτο μηχάνημα με χιλιάδες ωρες work at home και διασκέδασης. Τοσο καλό που αποφάσισα να μην το πουλήσω και να μείνει στον γιο μου σαν βασικο του μηχάνημα. Τωρα παμε στο Μ1. Καταπληκτικο, απιστευτα γρηγορο, ησυχο και τελικα versatile. Η ταχυτητα του για καθημερινες εργασίες είναι δυσκολο να γινει αντιληπτή. Το imac bootαρει σε 40 δευτερολεπτα....το Μ1 σε 7. Οι σελίδες ανοίγουν σε χιλιοστα δευτερολεπτου , στο youtube streamaρει 4k , ενω μπορεί παραλληλα να κάνει δεκαδες αλλες εργασίες. Πραγματικα ειναι κατι πολυ διαφορετικό απο αυτα που εχουμε τωρα συνηθισει. Εχω μετρο συγκρισης ενα lenovo i5 all in one 24αρι που πηραμε πρόσφατα για τον μικρότερο γιο για τα μαθηματα απο το σπιτι σα ίδια χρηματα και η διαφορά ειναι χαοτική.
Πάμε τωρα στα αρνητικά....ΔΕΝ ΕΙΝΑΙ τελικα φθηνο.....Και ξεκιναω:

Ρεαλιστικα, χρειάζεσαι αν δεν τα εχεις, ενα 4κ 32αρι μοιτορ, μια καμερα, ενα αξιοπρεπες ποντικι και πληκτρολογιο, ενα HDMI καλωδιο και ενα εξωτερικο SSD. ολα αυτα αγγίζουν τα 1500 ευρω και νομιζω οτι δυσκολα θα ματσάρεις με PC αυτη την τιμη. Να αναφερουμε εδω οτι το συστημα ερχεται ολοκληρωμενο με δυνατα office suite, επεξεργασια βιντεοκια φωτογραφίας, icloud storage 5 gb και aupport για τουλαχιστον 8 χρονια.

I got the mac mini with the M1 as part of replacing all my PCs and I don't regret it at all.
I had my doubts about the 8GB RAM, but the PC actually performs maybe even better and more smoothly than the 13.3-inch macbook pro with i5 16gb/1tb ssd that I have. The machine never heats up. The only drawback compared to its predecessor is the fewer (2) USB-C ports it has.
Another drawback, but not of the machine itself, is that it will take some time for all programs to adapt and run on computers with the M1 processor.
I use it for office, autocad 2d, browsing, etc. in other words, with light use.
I have it connected to an LG 4k monitor, an Apple keyboard, and a Dell Bluetooth mouse.
Το mac mini με τον M1 τον πήρα στα πλαίσια αλλαγής όλων των pc μου και δεν το μετάνιωσα καθόλου.
Είχα τις αμφιβολίες μου σχετικά με την 8GB μνήμη RAM αλλά πραγματικά το pc με τα ίδια προγράμματα συμπεριφέρεται ίσως και καλύτερα και πιο ξεκούραστα από το macbook pro 13,3 με i5 16gb/1tb ssd που έχω στην κατοχή μου. Το μηχάνημα δεν ανεβάζει ποτέ θερμοκρασία. Το μόνο μειονέκτημα του σε σχέδη με τον προκάτοχο του είναι οι πιο λίγες (2) θύρες usb-c που διαθέτει.
Ενα ακόμα μειονέκτημα αλλά όχι του μηχανήματος είναι ότι πρέπει να περάσει ακόμα καιρός μέχρι να προσαρμοστούν όλα τα προγράμματα και να τρέχουν στους συγκεκριμένους υπολογιστές με τον M1 επεξεργαστή.
Το χρησιμοποιώ για office, autocad 2d, broswing κλπ. κοινώς με ελαφριά χρήση.
Το έχω συνδέσει με οθόνη της LG 4k, apple keyboard και dell mouse bluetooth.
I have had the Mac Mini M1 for 2 months now. As I mentioned before, if you work with FCPX, then buying it is a one-way street. It performs very well! Just be careful with plugins... Most of them do not run on the M1.
However, what I have noticed is that when I start doing a really "heavy" task, the M1 doesn't handle it well... I'm referring to Lightroom, Photoshop, and other 3rd party programs. My old MacBook Pro 15" 2017 performed much better.
FIRST THOUGHTS:
I bought it 2 weeks ago, after giving away my MacBook Pro 15" 2017. Working exclusively on video and photo editing, I can say that I am divided about the purchase.
Specifically, in Lightroom, I can say that it is considerably slower than the MacBook Pro I was using until recently... I should note that I have the M1 version of Adobe... I was really disappointed with this... Presumably, it worked very well on the MacBook due to the second card.
In Final Cut, IT DOES NOT EXIST. It's amazing... stabilization, export, effects... I can't believe how fast it is, guys...

Πλέον έχω τον Mac Mini M1 εδώ και 2 μήνες. Όπως ανέφερα και πριν αν εργάζεστε με FCPX, τότε η αγορά του είναι μονόδρομος.. Ανταποκρίνεται πολύ καλά! Προσοχή στα plugins... Τα περισσότερα δεν τρέχουν στον Μ1..
Αυτό που έχω προσέξει όμως είναι ότι όταν ξεκινάω να κάνω μία πραγματικά "βαριά" εργασία, ο Μ1 δεν τα πάει καλά.... Αναφέρομαι σε Lightroom, Photoshop και άλλα 3rd party προγράματα.,, Ο παλιός μου (MacBook Pro 15" 2017) τα πήγαινε πολύ καλύτερα..

Το αγόρασα πριν 2 εβδομάδες, ενώ έδωσα το MacBook Pro 15" 2017 μου για να το πάρω. Δουλεύοντας αποκλειστικά video και photo edit μπορώ να πω ότι είμαι διχασμένος σχετικά με την αγορά του.

Quiet, small, and fast would be the three words that would characterize it. So far, I had no other experience with MacOS, but the transition from Windows 10 did not bother me. The installation of Microsoft Office and Chrome contributed to making the environment more familiar. Αθόρυβος, μικρός, ταχύτατος θα ήταν οι τρεις λέξεις που θα τον χαρακτήριζα, Μέχρι τώρα δεν είχα άλλη εμπειρία απο MacOS αλλά η μετάβαση απο windows 10 δεν με προβλημάτισε. Η εγκατάσταση του microsoft office και του chrome συνέβαλε στο να είναι το περιβάλλον πιο γνώριμο. Οι ιστοσελίδες ανοίγουν λες και είναι κάτω απο το enter, δοκίμασα το handbreak και μετέτρεψα κάτι βίντεο επίσης ταχύτατα. Σου δίνει πρόσβαση σε φακέλους που χρειάζεσαι, αν είσαι power user και κάνεις πολλές "εγκαταστάσεις" προγραμμάτων όπως φοιτητής μηχανικός τότε δεν κάνει...

έχω εγκαταστήσει για να τεστάρω δυνατότητες τις εκδόσεις των 30 ημερών για Premiere, Photoshop, DaVinci κτλ και πάνε σφαίρα για επίπεδο οικιακής χρήσης. Θέλω να τεστάρω την λειτουργία της adobe premiere μέχρι να βγάλουν το update για Big Sur και τον Μ1 πρίν το αγοράσω.

Δεν έχει boot camp και δεν τρέχει Virtualisation τα Windows. Επίσης δεν δέχεται εξωτερική κάρτα γραφικών μέσω Thunderbolt. Επίσης έχει 2 λιγότερες thunderbolt / USB 4 Ports. Επίσης υποστηρίζει μέχρι 2 εξωτερικές οθόνες 1 μέσω HDMI 1 μέσω USB4/Thunderbolt μέχρι 6κ και η 2η μέσω HDMI μέχρι 4κ. Δηλαδή 3 οθόνες 1080p ΔΕΝ μπορείτε να συνδέσετε.

Owner of the entire range of APPLE ECO SYSTEM devices, it is the most value for money product the company has ever launched, which has nothing to do with the overpriced systems it has always launched on the market. It is a completely silent machine that I plugged in on the first day and will be permanently in sleep mode for the next few years and I will never shut it down. It boots up in just 3 seconds. It is amazing for demanding professional use, they have fixed all the bugs of 2020 (sleep mode monitor crash, limited variable refresh rate output, HDR, bluetooth disconnections, etc). I discovered that it also has speakers that work satisfactorily. This particular model has 16GB RAM/1TB and I won't need anything else for several years.
A note: the MAC MINI M1 is designed to work perfectly only with 5K monitors (LG ULTRAGEAR 5K / APPLE STUDIO DISPLAY) because only with 5K can you achieve 218 PPI in HIDPI.
Specifically, Apple has blocked HIDPI on 1440p monitors, which do recognize 144Hz (HDMI) & 244Hz (Display USB C Port), but the fonts are not crispy and are blurry to an annoying degree.
However, there are tools to solve this to some extent so that you can at least work on 1440p monitors (but with some searching in the display settings).
1/ You should buy the BETTERDISPLAY application, which permanently creates a dummy 5K monitor and makes the Mac think that the external monitor is 5K, scaling it to 50% in 1440p, where the result is relatively satisfactory for simple tasks (it is not related to the levels of 5K Retina Native Displays).
2/ At the same time, you will need to set the font smoothing intensity from the terminal (preferably 2) and then reboot.

Κατοχος ολης της σειρας συσκευων της APPLE ECO SYSTEM είναι ότι πιο value for money εχει λανσαρει ποτε η εταιρια που δεν εχει καμια σχεση με τα υπερκοστολογημενα συστηματα που ανεκαθεν λανσαρει στην αγορα. Είναι ενα εντελως αθορυβο μηχανημα που του εβαλα ρευμα την πρωτη μερα και θα είναι μονιμα σε sleep mode για τα επομενα χρονια και δεν θα το κλεισω ποτε. Bootαρει σε ΜΟΛΙΣ 3 δευτερολεπτα. Καθαρα για απαιτητικη επαγγελματικη χρηση είναι καταπληκτικο, εχουν διορθωσει όλα τα bug του 2020 (sleep mode monitor crash, περιορισμος εξοδου variable referesh rate, HDR, bluetοoth αποσυνδεσεις κλπ). ανακαλυψα ότι εχει και ηχεια που λειτουργουν ικανοποιητικα. Το συγκεκριμενο μοντελο είναι στα 16GB Ram/1TB και δεν θα χρειαστω κατι άλλο για αρκετα χρονια
Μια σημειωση το MAC MINI M1 είναι σχεδιασμενο να δουλευει αψογα μονο με 5Κ Οθονες (LG ULTRAGEAR 5K / APPLE STUDIO DISPLAY) διοτι μονο με 5Κ μπορει να πετυχεις 218 PPI σε ΗIDPI.
Συγκεκριμενα η apple εχει μπλοκαρει το HIDPI σε 1440p oθονες που ναι μεν αναγνωριζει 144Hz HDMI) & 244Hz (Display USB C Port) αλλα η γραμματοσειρες δεν είναι crispy και είναι blur σε ενοχλητικο βαθμο..
Όμως υπαρχουν tool για να λυθει μεχρι καποιο βαθμο για να μπορειτε τουλαχιστον να δουλεψετε σε οθονες 1440p (αλλα με αρκετο ψαξιμο στις ρυθμισης ανα οθονη)
1/ ΘΑ πρεπει να αγορασετε την εφαρμογη BETTERDISPLAY oπου δημιουργει μονιμα ένα dummy monitor 5K και νομιζει το mac oτι η εξωτερικη οθονη είναι 5Κ και κανει 50% scale σε 1440p οπου το αποτελεσμα είναι σχετικα ικανοποιητικο για απλες λειτουργιες (δεν εχει σχεση με τα επιπεδα 5Κ Retiva Native Displays)
2/ Παραλληλα θα πρεπει να σεταρετε από το terminal το ποσο εντονα θα είναι η γραμματοσειρα (κατά προτιμηση 2 / και μετα Reboot

3/ Θα βοηθουσε ακομα περισσοτερο για 1440p/HDIPI Mode να αγοραζατε και την εφαρμογη SWITCHRES για λιγο πιο βελτιομενο αποτελεσμα.
Oλα τα προγραμματα θα τρεχουν μονιμα στο background και ακομα σε κάθε reboot θα είναι αποθηκευμενα στην μνημη και θα τρεχουν μονιμα (στην αρχη ειχαν προβλημα στο sleep mode αλλα με προσφατο update το διορθωσαν)
Διαφορετικα θα πρεπει να αγορασετε στα 1800 Ευρω το Apple Studio Retina Display για την απολυτη συμβατοτητα με το MAC MINI M1 (οσο αφορα για επαγγελματικη χρηση ειναι μονοδρομος) αλλα ειναι το τελειο Desk Setup (Mac Mini M1 + Apple Studio Display) που απογεινωνει την εμπειρια
In January 2005, Steve Jobs announced the first Mac mini and said that it is BYODKM (Bring Your Own Display, Keyboard and Mouse), meaning you get the computer from Apple and you provide the rest. I don't know to what extent this applies to the M1 Mac Mini. Initially, I used it with a relatively old but good Samsung monitor. I quickly noticed that there were vertical and horizontal lines visible on the entire screen, even from a distance. At first, I thought the Mac was defective. When I tried the same monitor with an Intel MacBook Pro, it worked flawlessly. That's when I discovered that this is an issue with M1 devices and certain monitor models. So, I decided to buy a new LG monitor. The problem with the lines was gone. However, when the Mac was in sleep mode and I woke it up, the screen would show snow like old analog TVs while the computer was on and producing sound through the speakers. The solution was to restart the monitor. Sometimes, the screen wouldn't show anything at all, and the only solution was to restart the Mac, and of course, without any image, the only way was to hold down the button for a long time, which is dangerous. Other users also have this problem, and no matter what I tried, I couldn't find a solution. As for the keyboard and mouse, I didn't have any issues because I used Apple's, but many users have reported problems due to the device's weak Bluetooth.

Στο M1 Mac Mini δεν ξέρω κατα ποσό ισχύει αυτό. Αρχικά το χρησιμοποιούσα με μια σχετικά παλιά αλλά καλή οθόνη της Samsung. Γρήγορα παρατήρησα ότι σε όλη την οθόνη υπήρχαν κάθετες και οριζόντιες γραμμές εμφανές ακόμα και από απόσταση. Στην αρχή νόμιζα πως ήταν ελαττωματικό το Mac. Την Τρίτη κιόλας μέρα το μηχάνημα κάηκε εντελώς. Μετά από δυο εβδομάδες μου το αντικατέστησαν. Το πρόβλημα με την οθόνη υπήρχε ακόμα. Δοκιμάζοντας την ίδια οθόνη με ένα intel MacBook Pro λειτουργούσε απροβλημάτιστα. Τότε ανακάλυψα πως αυτό είναι θέμα των M1 συσκευών με αρκετά μοντέλα οθονών. Τότε λοιπόν αποφάσισα να αγοράσω μια καινούρια της LG. Το πρόβλημα με τις γραμμές δεν υπήρχε. Όμως όταν το Mac ήταν σε sleep mode και το ξύπναγα η οθόνη έβγαζε χιόνια σαν τις παλιές, αναλογικές τηλεοράσεις ενώ ο υπολογιστής ήταν ανοιχτός και έβγαζε ήχο στα ηχεία. Η λύση ήταν να κανείς restart την οθόνη. Κάποιες φορές μάλιστα η οθόνη δεν έδειχνε τίποτα και τότε η μόνη λύση ήταν να κανείς restart το Mac και φυσικά χωρίς εικόνα ο μόνος τρόπος ήταν να κρατήσεις το κουμπί παρατεταμένα, πράγμα επικίνδυνο. Αυτό το πρόβλημα το έχουν και άλλοι χρήστες και ότι και να δοκίμασα δεν βρήκα λύση. Όσο για το πληκτρολόγιο και το ποντίκι εγώ δεν είχα θέμα γιατί χρησιμοποιούσα της apple όμως πολλοί χρήστες έχουν αναφέρει προβλήματα λόγο του αδύναμου Bluetooth της συσκευής.

Then, the main problem is that it has limited audio output to HDMI, which should pass high-resolution and/or multi-channel formats such as FLAC 96(192)/24, Atmos, DTS HD, etc., based on both the machine and HDMI specifications. However, it converts them to low-resolution before sending them to the external decoder, resulting in a significant loss in sound quality.
Overall, I am EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED with the Mac mini.
I should note that I have 5-6 other Macs (with Intel) that do not have these problems!
Καταρχάς έχει πρβλήματα συμβατότητας με παιχνίδια και εφαρμογές (GoG) που είναι φτιαγμένες για mac με AS(s) όπως το M1.
Έπειτα, το βασικότερο πρόβλημα είναι ότι έχουν περιορίσει την έξοδο ήχου στο HDMI που ενώ βάσει προδιαγραφών τόσο του μηχανήματος όσο και του HDMI θα έπρεπε να περνά υψηλής ανάλυσης ή/και πολυκάναλα format όπως FLAC 96(192)/24, Atmos, DTS HD κλπ, τα μετατρέπει σε χαμηλής ανάλυσης πριν τα στείλει στον εξωτερικό αποκωδικοποιητή χάνοντας ΠΑΡΑ ΠΟΛΥ σε ποιότητα ήχου.
Γενικά είμαι ΑΠΟΛΥΤΑ ΑΠΟΓΟΗΤΕΥΜΕΝΟΣ με το mac mini.
Να σημειώσω ότι έχω 5-6 άλλα mac (με intel) που δεν έχουν αυτά τα προβλήματα!
