It was purchased almost on Day 1, November 2020, when the company had just released the 2nd wireless mouse, which was more affordable than the 1st RIVAL 650 WIRELESS.
It comes with 2 batteries in the package, I insert both of them into the mouse, leave the illumination turned on, and have the polling rate on. The result? -> In less than a month, it needed new batteries with an average usage of about 8 hours per day. I had to disable the polling rate and illumination and use only one battery instead of two. With the same usage, the battery lasted for about 1 month (whether you use 2 batteries or 1, they will run out at the same time). It should be noted that coming from the Microsoft Wireless 4000, with one AA battery, I used to forget that it needed replacement. Moving on, the wake-up from sleep mode is very slow, you have to press a button and the LED on the scroll wheel needs to light up 3 times before you can use it, wasting a lot of time. The worst part is that if you click the left button before it lights up 3 times, it freezes and you have to remove the battery to restart it. Similarly, there are problems with the engine when changing settings on the mouse. In 80% of the cases, it doesn't reset on its own and you have to remove the battery. As if that wasn't enough, in August 2022, the scroll wheel stopped functioning properly. When scrolling down, it would go down for 1-2 pages and then go up 0.5-1 page, and vice versa. As you can understand, it was almost useless. I tried blowing air inside with a spray, but nothing happened. I tried updating, resetting, changing USB ports, but nothing worked. I contacted SteelSeries, and since it had a 2-year warranty and I was within the warranty period, they replaced it for me. It took 2 weeks for it to arrive and 4-5 days for the process to be approved.
Conclusions:
+ It doesn't have any plastic parts stuck to the surface that touches the hand, so you don't have to worry about them coming off over time or with sweat/heat.
+ The 2 side buttons and the 2 main buttons are of good quality.
+ If you change DPI during the day or from game to game, there is a button for quick switching (you can create up to 5 profiles).
- Slow startup during boot and after waking up from sleep mode.
- Unacceptable battery life with illumination and polling rate turned on.
- The scroll wheel is likely to cause problems over time.
I wouldn't recommend buying it...
I will seriously consider whether my next mouse will be from SteelSeries again...
Αγοράστηκε σχεδόν Day 1, Νοέμβριο του 2020, τότε η εταιρία έβγαζε μόλις το 2ο ασύρματο ποντίκι αρκετά οικονομικότερο από το 1ο RIVAL 650 WIRELESS.
Έρχεται με 2 μπαταρίες μέσα στη συσκευασία, τις τοποθετώ και τις 2 στο ποντίκι, αφήνω ενεργοποιημένο το illumination και έχω ON και το polling rate. Αποτέλεσμα; -> σε λιγότερο από μήνα ήθελε άλλες μπαταρίες με μια χρήση περίπου 8 ώρες την μέρα κατά μέσο όρο. Αναγκαστικά απενεργοποιώ polling rate και illumination και βάζω μια μπαταρία αντί για δύο. Έτσι με την ίδια χρήση πάω στον 1 μήνα διάρκεια ζωής(ναι καλά καταλάβατε, είτε βάλετε 2 μπαταρίες είτε 1 θα τελειώσουν στο ίδιο χρονικό διάστημα). Να σημειωθεί ότι προερχόμενος από το microsoft wireless 4000 με μια μπαταρία ΑΑ ξεχνούσα ότι ήθελε αλλαγή. Συνεχίζουμε, η επιστροφή από το sleep είναι πολύ αργή, πρέπει να πατήσεις ένα πλήκτρο και να ανάψει το LED στη ροδέλα 3 φορές για να μπορέσεις να το χρησιμοποιήσεις, χάνεις άπειρο χρόνο. Το χειρότερο...αν πατήσεις αριστερό κλικ πριν ανάψει 3 φορές, παθαίνει κοκομπλόκο, μπλοκάρει και πρέπει να βγάλω την μπαταρία για να το ξανανοίξω, αντίστοιχα προβλήματα και με το engine όταν αλλάζεις ρυθμίσεις στο ποντίκι στο 80% των περιπτώσεων δεν επανέρχεται μόνο του και πρέπει να του βγάλεις την μπαταρία. Σαν να μην έφταναν αυτά τον Αύγουστο του 2022 η ροδέλα σταμάτησε να λειτουργεί όπως έπρεπε. Έκανα scroll down και κατέβαινε για 1-2 σελίδες και μετά ανέβαινε 0.5-1 σελίδα πάνω και αντίστροφα. Όπως καταλαβαίνετε ήταν σχεδόν άχρηστο. Πήρα σπρει αέρα φύσηξα μέσα αλλά τίποτα, δοκίμασα update, reset, αλλαγή θύρας usb αλλά τίποτα.. Μίλησα με steelseries και επειδή είχε εγγύηση 2 χρόνια και ήμουν εντός, μου το αντικατέστησαν, πήρε στις 2 βδομάδες να έρθει και 4-5 μέρες για να εγκριθεί η διαδικασία.
Συμπεράσματα:
+ Δεν έχει καθόλου πλαστικά μέρη κολλημένα στην επιφάνεια που αγγίζει το χέρι, άρα δεν χρειάζεται να ανησυχείτε ότι με το χρόνο και τον ιδρώτα/ζέστη θα ξεκολλήσουν.
+ Τα 2 πλαϊνά κουμπιά και τα 2 κεντρικά είναι ποιοτικά
+ Αν αλλάζετε κατά τη διάρκεια της μέρας ή από game σε game DPI, υπάρχει κουμπί για γρήγορη εναλλαγή (μπορείτε να φτιάξετε μέχρι 5 προφίλ)
- Αργή εκκίνηση κατά την εκκίνηση και μετά από επιστροφή από sleep mode.
- Με illumination και polling rate ON απαράδεκτη διάρκεια ζωής μπαταρίας
- Ροδέλα σε βάθος χρόνου πολύ πιθανό να σας βγάλει πρόβλημα
Δεν θα σας συνιστούσα να το αγοράζατε..
Θα το σκεφτώ σοβαρά αν το επόμενο ποντίκι μου θα είναι πάλι steelseries...
