Excellent for what it does. Some things to avoid misunderstandings.
1) Comparison with an espresso machine:
The coffee it produces should not be confused with espresso. Espresso requires 9 bar pressure. This pot develops pressure of 1 to 2 bars (about 1.5). At 3 bars, the safety valve opens. This results in a different coffee taste and minimal (or no) crema during serving (although new models with a special valve that increases pressure and temperature for more crema have been released, as they claim, without my personal experience). Therefore, if someone thinks that with such a low cost they will achieve crema similar to espresso machines, they are looking at the wrong product. However, some varieties create more crema (dark roasted).
Also, when we put the coffee in the special container, we DO NOT press it with pressure like we do with machines. It should be evenly spread and 'fluffy'. Again, as the manufacturer suggests.
The size of the coffee beans plays a role.
2) Temperature
Here, a little caution and patience are needed because if it goes slightly off, the whole extraction is ruined. It requires low temperature. I do it on a gas stove to be sure. Low heat, very low heat (patience!), to keep the pressure stable at low levels. On high heat, it will burn the water so much that at the end of the process, the coffee will be burnt. Very gentle from the beginning to have a steady flow-pressure. Very, very important.
Some suggest pouring hot water into the container because it reduces the time it takes to make the coffee. It's true. There is no difference in quality. However, even the water needs some time to heat up. So it's one or the other in terms of total time. Unless someone has a kettle.
Important: when the coffee comes out, before serving, give it a good stir while it's in the pot with a spoon, and then pour it into a cup.
3) Cleaning
According to the manufacturer, it only needs hot water and nothing else. Any soaps are prohibited as they will negatively affect the material. Only in case of mineral deposits, soda, lemon, vinegar are allowed, according to the method indicated on the official website.
After washing, immediately wipe it with a cloth and let it dry well before assembly. This way, we avoid any oxidation or salt stains.
*For those wondering about health issues due to aluminum, opinions differ here. Studies say it is below 1%, at acceptable levels (!). And that the use of soaps increases it (less than 4%). Everyone investigates it at their own responsibility and judges. I do not take a position.
In general, Bialetti pots have a different philosophy that requires a little work to learn, but the result is quite interesting.

Εξαιρετικό για αυτό που κάνει. Κάποια πράγματα για να μην υπάρξουν παρανοήσεις.
1) Σύγκριση με εσπρέσο μηχανής:
Ο καφές που βγάζει δεν πρέπει να συγχέεται με εσπρέσο . Ο εσπρέσο χρειάζεται 9 bar πίεση. Αυτό το μπρίκι αναπτύσσει πίεση 1 με 2 μπαρ (περίπου 1.5) . Στα 3 ανοίγει η βαλβίδα ασφαλείας. Αυτό έχει σαν αποτέλεσμα, διαφορετική γεύση καφέ καθώς και ελάχιστη (έως καθόλου ) κρέμα κατά το σερβίρισμα (ωστόσο έχουν βγει νέα μοντέλα με ειδική βαλβίδα που αυξάνει την πίεση και τη θερμοκρασία για περισσότερη κρέμα, όπως ισχυρίζονται, χωρίς να έχω εμπειρία). Συνεπώς αν κάποιος σκέφτεται ότι με τόσο μικρό κόστος θα πετύχει κρέμα αντίστοιχη μηχανών εσπρέσο, κοιτάει λάθος προϊόν. Κάποιες ποικιλίες ωστόσο δημιουργούν περισσότερη κρέμα (dark roasted).
Επίσης όταν βάζουμε τον καφέ στο ειδικό δοχείο ΔΕΝ τον πατάμε με πίεση όπως κάνουμε με τις μηχανές . Πρέπει να είναι ομοιόμορφα απλωμένος και 'αφράτος'. Πάλι όπως υποδεικνύει ο κατασκευαστής.
Το μέγεθος των κόκκων παίζει ρόλο.
2) Θερμοκρασία
Εδώ λίγο προσοχή και υπομονή, γιατί λίγο να ξεφύγει , χάλασε όλη η εκχύλιση . Θέλει χαμηλή θερμοκρασία. Κι αυτό για να μην καεί ο καφές. Εγώ το κάνω στο γκαζάκι να είμαι σίγουρος. Χαμηλή φωτιά, πολύ χαμηλή (υπομονή!) , για να παραμείνει η πίεση σταθερή σε χαμηλά επίπεδα . Σε ψηλή φωτιά θα κάψει τόσο πολύ το νερό που στα τελειώματα της διαδικασίας θα καεί ο καφές. Πολύ σιγανή απ' την αρχή για να 'χει μια σταθερή ροή-πίεση. Πολύ πολύ βασικό.
Κάποιοι προτείνουν να μπαίνει ζεστό νερό στο δοχείο γιατί μειώνεται ο χρόνος που θα φτιαχτεί ο καφές. Ισχύει . Ποιοτικά δεν έχει καμία διαφορά. Ωστόσο κ το νερό για να ζεσταθεί θέλει λίγη ώρα. Οπότε είναι μία ή άλλη ο συνολικός χρόνος. Εκτός αν κάποιος έχει βραστήρα.
Σημαντικό: όταν βγει ο καφές, πριν το σερβίρισμα, καλή ανάδευση όσο είναι στο pot μ' ένα κουταλάκι και μετά φλιτζάνι.
3) Καθάρισμα
Κατά τον κατασκευαστή χρειάζεται μόνο ζεστό νερό και τίποτε άλλο. Απαγορεύονται οποιαδήποτε σαπούνια καθώς θα επηρεάσουν αρνητικά το υλικό. Μόνο στις επικαθήσεις αλάτων επιτρέπεται σόδα , λεμόνι , ξύδι σύμφωνα με τον τρόπο που υποδεικνύεται στο επίσημο site.
Μετά το πλύσιμο κατευθείαν σκούπισμα με πανί και το αφήνουμε να στεγνώσει καλά πριν τη συναρμολόγηση. Έτσι αποφεύγουμε οποιαδήποτε οξείδωση ή στάμπα από άλατα.
*Για όσους αναρωτιούνται για το αν υπάρχει θέμα υγείας λόγω αλουμινίου, εδώ οι απόψεις διίστανται. Λένε σε μελέτες ότι είναι κάτω από 1%, σε ανεκτά επίπεδα (!). Και πως η χρήση σαπουνιών την αυξάνει (κάτι λιγότερο από 4%). Ο καθένας το ψάχνει υπ' ευθύνη του και κρίνει. Δεν παίρνω θέση.
Γενικά τα Bialetti pots έχουν μια άλλη φιλοσοφία που θέλει λίγο δουλίτσα να το μάθει κάποιος αλλά το αποτέλεσμα είναι αρκετά ενδιαφέρον.
