Description

Pediatric Oximetry Sensor Nonin 8000SM

The Nonin 8000 Soft Sensors (SL, SM & SS) series reusable sensors offer absolute flexibility for SpO2 monitoring whether immediate checks or continuous monitoring is required.

The specially designed Soft Sensors provide comfort to the patient by ensuring optimal pressure distribution on the finger and come in 3 models to cover all ages:

  • Adult Sensor 8000SL: Finger thickness 12.5 to 25.5 mm
  • Child Sensor 8000SM: Finger thickness 10 to 19 mm
  • Infant Sensor 8000SS: Finger thickness 7.5 to 12.5 mm

Available with a one (1m) or three (3m) meter cable.

The Soft Sensors 8000SL/SM/SS feature PureLight® technology, which in conjunction with Nonin PureSAT® signal processing provides consistent and stable results from patient to patient, even under the most adverse conditions such as movement or low perfusion.

The PureLight oximetry sensors from Nonin produce a high-intensity spectrum of clean light which eliminates variability in measurements from patient to patient and from sensor to sensor.

The red and infrared light sources (LEDs) are essential in pulse oximeter sensors. The red LED measures deoxygenated hemoglobin and the infrared LED measures oxygenated hemoglobin. Common red LEDs usually produce a second emission spectrum (interference), which affects the measurement of oxygenated hemoglobin.

The interference from the LED affects the calibration curve of the oximeter at oxygenation levels, resulting in inaccurate measurements at levels below 80%.
