During the Interwar period, Greeks who had been recruited by German intelligence services arrived in Greece from Germany. Greeks who had been dazzled by 1930s Germany and were ready to offer land and water to the New World Order that had dawned in their new homeland.
These individuals, along with those who had already been recruited in Greece, formed the basis from which those staffed the services of the Abwehr, the SD, and the GFP during the German Occupation were molded. Personalities such as Peri Nikolaï emerged like gods and Valkyries from Scandinavian mythology.
This research follows their faint traces from the Interwar period to the wounds they left on the national body during the German Occupation. Their actions not only erased the Jewish community of Thessaloniki but also dealt significant blows to Allied espionage networks. Peri Nikolaï rises from oblivion, taking shape through the pages of this research.
