In the present volume, "The Diachronic Contribution of Greek to Other Languages," Georgios Kanarakis, Professor at the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at Charles Sturt University in Australia, edits a work featuring thirty-four specialized studies by thirty-two scholars from various countries, including Greece.

This collective work helps to fill a gap in the field of contrastive linguistics. The studies specifically address the diachronic and linguistically multi-layered influences of Greek on the evolutionary course of twenty-eight languages around the world, which belong to various language families or are isolated.

As is well known, cross-linguistic influences are not only a linguistic matter but also a socio-cultural one. This collective and comprehensive volume, which combines theory and practice, responsibly broadens our knowledge in this scientific field by providing a rather wide perspective of it.
