The book by Stephen J. Chapman, like almost all undergraduate textbooks, examines electric machines in steady-state equilibrium. However, the involvement of electric machines with automatic control necessitates the examination of dynamic conditions.
Thus, the application of control theory to electric machines has forced the description of the dynamics of electric machines, which has helped to evolve significantly. Today, the dynamics of electric machines is taught at the undergraduate level and is only referenced in specialized books. Textbooks still limit themselves to the study of the steady-state equilibrium of electric machines.
We believe that electric machines are actually a relatively simple scientific subject. In fact, if the appropriate aids are available, it can be considered enjoyable. We hope that the readers of this book will not disagree with us.
We chose Stephen J. Chapman's book from among many notable books in the international literature, perhaps because in the past, it was the one that stimulated our interest in electric machines more than any other book. Thus, with this edition, we hope to contribute to the enrichment of Greek literature and to stimulate the interest of students and electrical engineers in electric machines.
