Description

The Nikon NIKKOR Z 70-200mm f/2.8 VR S is a constant-aperture telephoto zoom lens for Nikon Z cameras with a full-frame sensor. Its autofocus is smooth, fast, and quiet, while image stabilization supports both photography and video recording. The fully weather-sealed construction and fluorine coating protect against water, dust, and dirt.

The constant, 9-blade circular aperture creates natural bokeh. The ARNEO and Nano Crystal coatings reduce ghosting and reflections, while the ED and SR glass elements minimize chromatic aberration. For video recording, focus breathing is virtually eliminated, and constant aperture control ensures smooth exposure changes.

The lens has a control ring for adjusting the aperture, ISO, or exposure compensation, as well as Fn buttons that can be assigned up to 21 functions. The OLED display shows the aperture, focus distance, focal length, ISO, and depth of field.

I use it with a Nikon Z7 II. I compare it with the old F mount AF-S VR 70-200 and I find it:
    - A little better in resolution
    - Much faster in focusing
    - Much better VR for handheld shooting.
    - Slightly lighter.
    - Quite a bit shorter in length if we take into account the FTZ adapter. On the Z7 II it even fits in a sling bag.
    - With a slightly better tripod mount.
Overall, it is an excellent zoom telephoto lens that can easily be used for a walk, without a tripod even in low light. It is a bit heavier and larger than competing lenses, but it is worth it.

Excellent lens, sharp, fast lens with its only drawback being the weight! From what I had read in articles about the lens, I can say that I was disappointed, but the reality is that it will excite you!

  • It is excellent, fast, and incredibly high quality. I had the Tamron 70-200mm G2 before and thought I wouldn't need anything better, but the Nikon is so much better that there is no comparison. Just my favorite lens for any kind of work.
