This book is intended for those who teach and learn Greek as a second or foreign language. It is a teaching manual that focuses on Erasmus students, EILC, students of other Greek language learning programs (e.g., Summer Language Scholars) who are at the beginner level (A1-A2) and generally in intensive and short courses for learning Modern Greek.

The aim of the book is to help learners acquire basic skills so that they can respond to real communicative situations and have an indicative understanding of elements of Greek culture and civilization.
The manual was compiled taking into account the corresponding Curriculum of the University of Athens as well as the language proficiency levels of the Centre for the Greek Language (KEG).

The book is structured into 20 Units - Lessons, which cover various communicative situations with current themes and present all the grammatical and syntactical phenomena necessary for these levels.

The material is written in a direct and friendly language, and its use does not require prior knowledge of Modern Greek. It is accompanied by images, sketches, and songs aimed at making the journey of learning the language and getting to know Greek culture even more lively. The selected exercises cover the spectrum of grammar and vocabulary as well as the skills of producing and understanding spoken and written language.

The book is accompanied by a CD with listening comprehension exercises, as well as an appendix of solutions, making it suitable for self-study as well.
