It can hold a water bottle, flask, plastic coffee cup, soft drink, etc. with a diameter of 55 to 77 mm.     The height is low, so it doesn't hold well if you put something taller than a 330ml can. While the base is okay and the ball stays stable with a tight grip, it doesn't close tightly on the container, so it wobbles.
