Τα Μ.2 slots προορίζονται αποκλειστικά για χρήση caching. Υπάρχει τρόπος να γίνουν format/mount σαν καινουριο volume αλλά επίσημα δεν υποστηρίζεται από την Synology με ό,τι αυτό συνεπάγεται.

Τα M.2 slots μπορούν να γίνουν storage πλέον μόνο στα μοντέλα σειράς 21, 22, 23 και μετά https://kb.synology.com/en-us/DSM/tutorial/Which_models_support_M_2_SSD_storage_pool
