I don't have experience with a professional extractor, however, it does the job I wanted it to do. Yes, you have to be relatively close for it to efficiently capture all the smoke, but it's okay for the 27 euros I paid for it.

It is not an extractor, but it is a glorified Chinese desktop fan that, however, does relatively well what it promises.
