In the Braid, the lives and fate of three women intersect, who will never meet. The first is Smita, who belongs to the caste of the Untouchables, meaning she is at the lowest rung of Indian society. The conditions under which she lives are miserable, as is her job in the toilets. However, she has other dreams for her little daughter, and this will lead her to make a daring decision.
The second is Julia from Palermo. She is determined to find a solution so her father's artisanal business, which seems to be at a dead end due to changing circumstances, doesn't get lost. The third is Sarah, an extremely successful lawyer in Montreal, who sees her world crashing down, along with her health, as she faces social exclusion in her work environment when it is revealed that she suffers from cancer.
The stories of these three women, who are called to fight against their fate, are inextricably linked by a strange thread that even they do not know.
