The idea for the creation of the estate originated in the early 1980s when Vangelis Chatzivaritis and Olga Iakovidou gathered with friends in Goumenissa to bottle the wine of the year.
These gatherings and their love for good wine led to the establishment of the Chatzivaritis Winery. They began by purchasing land in the Bindabla region of the wine-growing area of Goumenissa, planting the first vineyard of 50 stremma in 1994.
In 2000, another 50 stremma plot was acquired in the Vakoufiano area, near the village of Filiria, which was planted in 2001 with Xinomavro and Negoska varieties. The winery was built there, completed in 2007.
In 2017, Vangelis and Olga's daughter, Chloe, returned to Greece after studying enology and began creating a new series of wines without interventions.
