The history of chess is very old. Thousands of years ago - no one knows exactly how many - people began to invent various wooden boards with engraved lines to satisfy their need for play, placing and moving various pieces made of stone and wood on them. Thus, games were created, among which, with various improvements, is chess.
Images of such games have been found in the Egyptian pyramids. Ancient texts also speak of them. A Chinese chess variant is said to be known for 4,000 years, while there are indications that chess has been known in India for over 2,000 years.
