Let's start with the fact that this device costs as much as a needle for a regular turntable, so let's not have high expectations.
The device is surprisingly entirely made of wood and seems to be well-built, although it is essentially the basic model priced at 64 euros, with additional features like bt/card reader/cover. The platter and the arm base are made of cheap low-quality plastic and are supported by springs. The needle has a metal axis and is made of ruby, not plastic.
The speakers are tuned in a way that they lack bass completely, but the worst part is that they produce a canned sound that is unbearable for continuous listening at high volume (depending on the record). As if that wasn't enough, the speed on my device was slow, around 31.8 rpm, with occasional drops to 30.6 rpm and noticeable wow/flutter.
Unfortunately, there is no way to adjust the speed, neither externally nor by using a screwdriver underneath, only directly on the motor. By unscrewing the device and turning the potentiometer on the motor, I managed to reach 33 rotations. On the same day in the afternoon, it played at 34.3 rotations, and in the evening at 32, so the adjustment was futile.
The worst part is that the speed remains highly unstable during playback, and sometimes it plays with such a tremolo (flutter) in the first songs of the record that listening becomes impossible. Basically, it is the third device of this type that has passed through my hands, and they all had the same behavior due to the combination of a cheap motor/plastic platter/tightened belt. By putting a weight experimentally on the record, I saw that the flutter decreased to an acceptable level. After a while of use, the problem further decreased.
The sound through bt headphones also lacks bass, and the trebles cause headaches. If the device is connected to an amplifier via bt with the trebles at 0 and the bass at +12 (and if the speed is correct), the sound improves and becomes tolerable. I did not try a direct connection with a cable.
If the device is used only as a bt speaker, then the sound is fuller and I would say it is acceptable. Moreover, if the bass is adjusted through the equalizer of Spotify or the phone, then the speakers play normally with reasonable bass.
In general, the function of transmitting the sound of the turntable through bt is very useful as it allows you to place the device in special spots, such as the living room table, and use it up close while drinking coffee.
The autostop function is also useful for those who fall asleep while listening to records (a deterrent for me in using my good turntable), although it does not have a stop point adjustment (with a screw), only the ability to activate or deactivate the function. Autostop is completely problematic with 45s as it stops playing before the song finishes in most cases. Also, with 45s, the needle tends to skip.
The cover is of reasonable quality with a stable hinge, but of questionable aesthetics due to its shape. When using bt, it is necessary to keep it down because there is a delay between the bt sound and the vibration sound.
This device is my second one. I could easily give it fewer stars, BUT with this turntable, I listened to about ten records this week, even though they had problems, by having it on my nightstand and transmitting the sound via bt, while I didn't listen to any with my good turntable. I consider this as a positive aspect of the device.
Ας ξεκινήσουμε με δεδομένο οτι αυτή η συσκευή κοστίζει όσο η βελόνα ενός κανονικού πικάπ, οπότε ας μην έχουμε πολλές απαιτήσεις.
Η συσκευή είναι παραδόξως εξ ολοκλήρου ξύλινη και φαίνεται καλής κατασκευής αν και ουσιαστικά πρόκειται για το απλό μοντέλο των 64 ευρω, με επιπρόσθετο bt/card reader/καπάκι. Το πλατό και η βάση του βραχίονα από φθηνό πλαστικό χαμηλής ποιότητας και στηρίζονται σε βάση από ελατήρια. Η βελόνα είναι με μεταλλικό άξονα και όχι πλαστικό και είναι απο ρουμπίνι.
Τα ηχεία είναι ρυθμισμένα ώστε να μην έχουν καθόλου μπάσο αλλά το χειρότερο είναι οτι παράγουν έναν ήχο κονσέρβας που δεν αντέχεται για συνεχόμενη ακρόαση σε μεγάλη ένταση (αναλόγως και τον δίσκο). Σαν να μην έφτανε αυτό, η ταχύτητα στη δική μου συσκευή ήταν αργή, γύρω στα 31,8 rpm μέχρι και με περιστασιακή πτώση στα 30,6 rpm και με έντονο wow/flutter.
Δυστυχώς δεν υπάρχει τρόπος ρύθμισης της ταχύτητας, ούτε εξωτερικά, ούτε από κάτω με κατσαβίδι παρά μόνο απ ευθείας επάνω στο μοτέρ. Με ξεβίδωμα της συσκευής και γύρισμα του ποτενσιόμετρου επάνω στο μοτέρ, φτάσαμε στις 33 στροφές. Τη ίδια μέρα το απόγευμα έπαιζε στις 34,3 στροφές, και το βράδυ στις 32, επομένως η ρύθμιση ήταν μάταιη.
Το χειρότερο είναι ότι η ταχύτητα παραμένει έντονα ασταθής κατά την αναπαραγωγή και μερικές φορές παίζει με τόσο τρέμολο (flutter) στα πρώτα τραγούδια του δίσκου που καθίσταται η ακρόαση αδύνατη. Βασικά είναι η τρίτη συσκευή τέτοιου τύπου που περνά από τα χέρια μου, και όλες είχαν την ίδια συμπεριφορά, λόγω του συνδυασμού φθηνού μοτέρ/πλαστικού πλατό/τεντωμένου ιμάντα. Βάζοντας ένα βάρος δοκιμαστικά πάνω στο δίσκο, είδα οτι το flutter μειώθηκε σε σημείο αποδεκτό. Μετά απο αρκετό καιρό χρήσης, το πρόβλημα μειώθηκε περαιτέρω.
O ηχος σε bt ακουστικά πάλι στερείται μπάσου και τα πρίμα προκαλούν πονοκέφαλο. Αν συνδεθεί η συσκευή σε ενισχυτή μέσω bt με τα πρίμα στο 0 και τα μπάσα στο +12, (και αν είναι στα συγκαλά της η ταχύτητα) ο ήχος διορθώνεται και γίνεται συμπαθής. Δεν δοκίμασα απευθείας σύνδεση με καλώδιο.
Αν η συσκευή χρησιμοποιηθεί μόνο ως bt ηχείο, τότε ο ήχος είναι πιο γεμάτος και θα έλεγα οτι είναι αποδεκτός. Αν μάλιστα ρυθμιστούν τα μπάσα μέσω του equalizet του spotify η του τηλεφώνου, τότε τα ηχεία παίζουν κανονικά με λογικά μπάσα.
Γενικά είναι πολύ χρήσιμη η λειτουργία μετάδοσης του ήχου του πικάπ μέσω bt καθώς σου επιτρέπει να βάλεις τη συσκευή σε ιδιαίτερα σημεία όπως πχ το τραπεζάκι του σαλονιού και να τη χρησιμοποιείς από κοντά πίνοντας καφέ.
Επίσης χρήσιμη η λειτουργία autostop για όσους αποκοιμιούνται ακούγοντας δίσκους (ανασταλτικός παράγοντας για μένα στο να χρησιμοποιώ το καλό μου πικάπ), αν και δεν έχει ρύθμιση σημείου παύσης (με βίδα), παρά μόνο δυνατότητα ενεργοποίησης ή απενεργοποίησης της λειτουργίας. Το autostop είναι εντελώς προβληματικό στα 45αρια καθώς στα περισσότερα σταματά την αναπαραγωγή πριν τελειώσει το τραγούδι. Επίσης στα 45αρια η βελόνα έχει μια τάση να πηδάει.
Το καπάκι είναι λογικής ποιότητας με σταθερό μεντεσέ, αλλά αμφιβόλου αισθητικής λόγω σχήματος. Σε χρήση bt είναι απαραίτητο να είναι κατεβασμένο γιατί υπάρχει χρονοκαθυστέριση ήχου bt/ ήχου δόνησης κεφαλής.
Η συσκευή είναι η δεύτερη μου. Θα μπορούσα άνετα να βάλω λιγότερα αστέρια ΑΛΛΑ με αυτό το πικάπ άκουσα καμιά δεκαριά δίσκους αυτή την εβδομάδα έστω και προβληματικά, έχοντάς το στο κομοδίνο και μεταδίδοντας τον ήχο με bt, ενώ με το καλό μου πικάπ δεν άκουσα κανέναν. Κρατάω αυτο ως θετικό της συσκευής.
