The lesson of Technology is oriented within the framework of technological education. For the teaching of this subject, teaching methods were chosen that, apart from the transmission of knowledge, set a range of broader goals. A characteristic of these methods is that they do not aim at the simple transmission of a specific amount of knowledge (curriculum). Instead, they engage students in a set of activities with many benefits.
Specifically for the first grade of Gymnasium, the method of Individual Work, adapted to the "learning through practice" approach, allows the student to come into contact with technological topics through a series of actions related to: Theoretical study / Execution of construction / Creation of written work / Presentation of the work.
The purpose of teaching the technology course is to provide the modern student with the necessary familiarity with the artificial technological environment in which they live, regardless of future career choices. Technological education can help address the gap that exists between the dependence on technology on the one hand and the lack of skills and knowledge on the other.
In the context of the new "post-industrial" era, where general education is taking on a new form, the integration of technological education into general education becomes more imperative than ever as an essential element of it. Technological education also includes the utilization of the modern tool that is computers and the global internet network, for the collection and processing of information that forms the basis for solving any technological problem.
