The idea of writing a book titled "Osteoarthritis of the Hip" matured in recent years when we realized that this interesting topic is neglected. It is neglected because few are those who engage in the classification of the condition, who use commonly accepted terminology, and who understand the natural progression of each form of osteoarthritis separately.
The natural progression determines both the prognosis and facilitates the selection of the appropriate therapeutic regimen. Ultimately, what seems to be of interest today is the surgery, specifically total arthroplasty. We have discussed these topics at various conferences and educational seminars and have published a series of articles in the Greek and international press.
All this information, most of which is not found in classical texts, is included in this book, with selected texts that are limited to what we deem essential knowledge required for the better practice of daily clinical work.
A significant portion of the book is occupied by images, which we encourage the reader to study particularly, as they are an integral part of the information provided in the various chapters. All images come from our personal archive and are specifically selected for the purpose of this publication.
The last chapter of the book includes the results of our various individual publications, details that we deemed necessary to mention for the confirmation of our views.
